I would probably NOT recommend the Klipschs that Apple has on their site, simply because they're designed to be a portable set (I have a pair here at work). They sound quite good, but simply don't have the thump that a good 2.1 set has.

Is there a reason you're confined to the Apple site?

I have to buy it through my department at the University I work at. My PO is limited to one source. It sucks, but it's what I have to work around.

Well, in my experience the Soundsticks are good but lack oomph. The 2.0 Klipschs are compact and sound good if you're not a power listener (the midrange and treble are quite strong, as is the bass down to a certain point, but it lacks real low end). The Altecs are probably the best choice from that group assuming you want a system with a sub.
