Buy in Store/Online?

I'm going to buy a new mac soon. Is it better to buy it from the online apple store or at an actual store? For me, I am 10 minutes away from an Apple store. Does it make a difference as far as service/time/anything?

If you buy it in the store, you'll get it that day.

When I got my G5 (when they first came out three years ago) I went to the store, but they didn't have any in yet so they just sat with me while I ordered online.

I've heard that memory upgrades cost more at a store.

Well, you could always check by walking 10 feet and checking online.

Buy it online through PowerMax or Small Dog Electronics and you don't have to pay sales tax which can add up on a large purchase.

    Both are Apple authorized Resellers.

I would, but I'm getting the educational discount which is $200+ off the computer. Can I get that from any authorized reseller?

As far as I know you have to go to an actual Apple Store to get your education discount, or get it online at apple.com.
