How to get "Applications" back in Finder?
Hi
First the good news: I just bought my second Mac, a Macbook with Airport Express and it was delivered yesterday! WooHoo!!!
Now the bad news: I opened Finder, and wanted to create a link to "Applications" in my Dock. So I dragged "Applications" from the Finder onto the Dock (or so I thought). When I let go of the mouse button, there was a poof of smoke and "Applications" disappeared! Now I do not have "Applications" anywhere!
Can someone tell me how I can get "Applications" back in my Finder and aso how I can get it onto the Dock please?
Thanks and cheers

1) Bring up a new Finder window.
2) Menu item Go->Computer.
2b) Open your hard drive icon.
3) Drag Applications folder to Sidebar.
4) Drag Applications folder to Dock.
2) Drag the proxy icon (the icon to the left of the window's title) into your Finder Sidebar to have it back there.
3) Drag the proxy icon into the Dock to have it there as well.

You won't find Applications directly in Computer.
Fixed that. Figured it was easier than dealing with proxy icons, if confusion was already made over Sidebar vs. actual folder...
"It's just moving the window."
"Click and *hold*."
"But nothing happens!"
"Click, hold a couple of seconds, *then* drag."
"The window?"
"No, the... oh never mind."
