Veni. Vidi. Codi.

Hello from WWDC! I'm at the registration area leeching off the wireless access. There's nothing too interesting to see from here that hasn't already been mentioned. The conference shirt I got says "Veni. Vidi. Codi." on it. Anyone know what it means?

Here's some pics from my cameraphone.

I'll hope you're kidding and save people from similar embarassment with this handy-dandy link.

It's a Sony Ericsson K750i. I accidentally knocked it off my desk pretty hard yesterday and it actually looks a bit fuzzy today!

I took a good look at the banner, but there's nothing surprising on it. The interesting banners are usually on the second and third floors, but there's security personnel at the escalators and elevators.

Seems like the AppleInsider crew didn't pay attention in history class.

It's a play on Caesar's "Veni, vidi, vici", which means "I came, I saw, I conquered". Apple's version is "I came, I saw, I coded" -- and since they've replaced "conquer" with "code", it would seem to imply that they think Leopard and Xcode have some pretty conquering, aka Vista-kicking, qualities.

    Veni, vidi, vici

Translation: I CAME, I SAW, I CONQUERED! (attributed to Caesar) and somebody above ALREADY provided a link that would have explained all of this.

So this shirt would be a clever (clearly WAY TOO clever for many people) play on those words...

    "I CAME, I SAW, I CODE"

If ya gotta explain this stuff it looses SO much.

Oh and here's a little tip, less xBox and more study okay?

Here is what microsoft would put on the back of their shirts,

"Microsoft delivers platforms for synergistic partnerships enabling effective solutions"

    I prefer Apple's approach.
