Which hard drive in my Powermac?

How can I tell which brand hard drive came in my Powermac?



When I go to Profiler I don't see it/

    When you go to profiler you don't see the hard drive at all? Did you click on the Devices and Volumes tab? If the HD is there, did you click on the info triangle to see the rest of the info on the drive? Mine says Maxtor 4D060H3.



    Of course you could just open the door and look at the drive.

    Dual 500 or older, it's probly a Quantum. Anything newer is probly a Maxtor. I think.

    It says the size & model # and a few other things but no brand, Maxtor, IBM, WD, etc..

    What is the model number? That can be traced back to a brand.

    Yes, Qauntum did stop making HD's. Maxtor bought that part of their business. Maxor will take care of any warentee need you have though.
