What I really dislike, though, is the vast number of smilies (as evidenced by the previous post) allowed in one single post. It should be limited to 2, at most 3 smilies, as there's no use in having a post with 17 different (yet same) smilies on it.
Of course, what I dislike may not be important at all, but just thought I'd raise my concern and let the admins decide what to do about it (or not).

I'm not sure there's a way to limit the number of smilies per post but I like your thinking. 8)

Well, you're getting there. You probably should photoshop the "PostReply" button so it matches (the PSD files can be found on vBulletin's support area)....and this is probably nit picking, but the forum looks odd at full width. Maybe consider adjusting the CSS to 90 percent of width...just so it doesn't look so 2001.
On my own vBulletin boards, I'm a bit of a smiley whore, so we have, literally dozens and dozens, many of which are nasty. As that is a sports board, it fits. You guys are probably right to limit things so we can properly discuss the merits of Core Image and so on.
While it's taking people a bit of time to get used to things, it's a big improvement from the behind the scenes, I'm sure.
Oh, and just to be whiny, please add more interesting user titles. Since you don't allow people to set their own, you should come up with some interesting and maybe offbeat titles based on post count.
I must also say that the 10 character minimum for posts kind of sucks. Sometimes a response or statement can be very on point and informative with less than 10 characters. Could you please remove the minimum?

A legitimate post shorter than that is a lot rarer than the occasions where a person would post some snide one-word comment.

I've changed it back to the previous 5 character minimum.
If I see to many useless quick responses, it will go back up to 10. As the previous poster noted, the increased minimum was solely implemented to reduce the number of replies that just contained a smilie or two.

Sometimes a quick reply saying something as simple as, I concur, can be profound!
We've (finally) upgraded vBull 3.5. It's very much a work in progress right now. It will take a day to index the forums for search and update all the images. Please report all issues here or to moderators audiopollution and jambo.
Best,
Kasper
Could we have an update on how the update is going? Do you consider it finished, or is it still a WIP?
There are some requests that have been made in this thread that you have not explicitly indicated whether or not you intend to implement. You've stated that you're going to get it looking like it used to, but clearly that isn't possible everywhere.
Is it possible to reduce the "boxiness"?
Is it possible to have the posts alternate in colour like they used to?
Is the indexing for search supposedly finished? Because it still isn't finding everything (but it is better than it was).
Thanks for all your hard work so far. (love the new aqua-like status do-dads indicating status of each forum).
Comments
that i simply dislike the greyed box in which all quotes appear.
Someone referred to the new look as boxy, which i think
it is a bit harsh, but i've got the picture.
I understand why certain people asked for an additional
topic title field (granted which is a standard feature in other forums),
but i think it is rather distracting if not disturbing. Get rid of it
if you ask me.
My overall impression is the AI forums lost a little bit
the minimalism and/or cleanness which i really
enjoyed over the years.
A good spellchecker would be very welcome.
What i examined:
I find it confusing, that edit, reply, quick reply are located at the bottom
of each post rather than at top right side (old look). More than one time i
hit the wrong buttons. It should be clear which button belongs to which post
- at a glance. In the actual state it is not. Maybe it is just me, but you asked
for feedback.
Well edit button just shows up at your very own post, which is good.
However reply as an option at your very own post should vanish.
Good thing is that you guys got rid of this annoying reset msg
in edit mode. Bravo
The save button below each edit field in edit mode is confusing too,
wrong semantics if you ask me. Submit or apply sounds better to me.
However i just examined that i started to get used to these new buttons.
Otherwise time will adjust the forum layout to our liking,
sooner or later, i am confident.
One last thing
i am subscribed to. And i want to be able to subscribe
at the main thread page not just in reply mode.
Btw, where do i unsubscribe the thread?
Hold on, i've got it. Burried somewhere. Well (un-)subscribing
should be a no brainer. It should be implemented as a simple
check box or some such. Ahh hold on, hold on, one word: thread tools,
cunning...
All in all keep up the good work, you guys do the rock.
(to be cont'd)
cheers and all the best

You should be able to limit the number of pictures per post and that should do it. I have seen other vB boards that do that.

Limit now set to 5.

Actually he did it... Oh man these times...
The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
You have included 18 images in your message. You are limited to using 5 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.
Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.
Well...8)
Seriously, i don't think it's going to work in the long run. Think about
these threads, where people uncover their new stuff etc.

Bastard.
Bastard.
hehe. sorry.
hehe. sorry.
You don't have to apologize.
Btw, maybe of importance: I don't like the new email notification system
with all the new posts included. I will read all the new stuff anyway,
when i go to the webpage. Is it possible to set it back to the old state.
Maybe i am missing some settings, which i couldn't find yet in the
control panel.
cheers
I gotta say I really dislike the mouse-over popups that obscure the thread titles when browsing the forums. I wish they would go away.
They are the spawn of Satan.

Also, you guys still haven't changed the forum jump to make it NOT auto link.

I know that's been the standard here, but as it's at variance with just about every other forum I've visited, it's always bugged me.
1. Select Forum form pop-up menu.
2. wait...
3. look at address bar for activity, see none.
4. Oh, yeah, I'm at AI.
5. Click "go."
