Refresh Rate in Mac OS X Tiger (Mac mini)
Hey,
recently my LCD had broken down and I had to return it for some repairs. Unfortunately that means I had to connect my old CRT for temporary time being (LG Flatron F700B). But a strange thing is, that despite the fact that the os recognized the model of the display I can not set 1280x1024 by 85 Hz. If I set 1280x1024 resolution all i can choose from the refresh rate menu is 60 Hz. Is there any way to override this?

No matter even, becouse any resolution over 1024x768 works only in 60 Hz, and that sucks. This display is TCO '99 so every resolution works in 85Hz.
Your CRT is likely 4:3, ergo 1280x1024 would be stretched.
Regardless, the real cause is probably that your CRT cannot display such a high resolution. I don't get how you come to the conclusion that TCO ratings have anything to do with that; they don't.

but as mentioned, maybe the display just doesn't support any higher.
