Yesterday I got a new 17" LCD monitor, it's from a company called Mermaid Technology out of Denmark.

It's very sleek and "European" looking, and it has an anti glare glass panel covering the LCD display.

It can be found at Bang & Olufson stores and the Dell Accessory Store.

The display is beautiful!

It alost reminds me of a Bang and Olufsen! If it is anything like the anti-reflection on the B & O TV's (ie Avant) then i bet it rocks!

Of course that monitor is analog, not digital. Apple's monitors are more expensive, but nobody ever takes the fact that they're digital into account. Not that analog LCDs aren't good, but you do get what you pay for.

Mmm, reminds me of <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/computing-gaming/3858.shtml"; target="_blank">my LCD</a> (the one I'm staring at), has both analog and digital inputs (connects to two different video sources). Going to get another one soon, they match the new PowerMacs pretty well (have a dual 1.25 on order)

Those Mermaid Ventura monitors look ugly in my opinion. They take simplicity to an extreme that is not pleasant. They look like a pile of blocks somebody glued together and called it a prototype for a display.. not an actual display.

Overall I like Apple's monitor designs much more than any other. Thers's also Formac's which are quite nice but not as refined, and Sony (I thnk) has a couple of rather stunning LCDs with very small frame edges and minimalistic design.

    But those... euch.

i agree, i think this thing is very ugly. Formac's monitor, and appl'e monitors are much more styl'n. Its cheaper because its analog, also because the design is so bad. Sorry if you like this, but it definatly looks like a dell accessory.

Well, I remember when digital was coming out, it was supposed to make screens cheaper, because they would no longer require expensive A-&gt;D converters.

Never happened, what a crock the market is.

Apple's screens should be heaps cheap, they dont even have power supplies.

What a strange website. We get to see the models and check out their specs but we can't go home and buy the damn thing for who know how much money.

I like the mermaid ventura 213AT 1600x1200 model. Sure would like to know how much it costs and where I could see and buy one.
