Just double checked my 2.66/BT and AP/1900XT. Ordered Aug 8, shipping Sept 13.
All your estimated ship date is, is your order date plus a fixed amount of time. People who ordered theirs with an X1900XT on the 7th have a ship of September 12th, etc. This will probably have little to no bearing to when they actually ship.
Yeah....I've been transferring files over all day....so I will check out the RAM issue again and try to reinstall everything after the files have moved.
It's very strange...I've installed RAM before so it's not like I was completely clueless.

Good luck. I suggest the "reseating" as I've made that mistake before. I'm no tech, but if the RAM was _bad_, I'd think that you'd suffer a kernel panic (a mac's BSOD) or get a ominous system chime, instead of simply not recognizing the chip.
News: a bunch of people got their mildly-configured systems pushed to the 22nd, perhaps Apple ships configured-to-order Mac Pros out in mass shipments to the United States and they want the X1900 XT equipped ones to go out in the same shipment rather than get pushed back another week?

August. So we might hope for them then.

Good to know. Does the date indicate your place in a queue? As in, you order first, you get it first (once they're ready)? Just curious. \
I hope it does.
Good - I'll post you some pics of my 1900XT to torment you!
jk
My first mac.
Should I install the ram before I start it?

Happy to help! 8)
I'm very sad..
The RAM isn't being recongized :-(
Odd. Where did you buy the ram? Have you double checked that the chips are seated in the banks, and that the banks are seated properly?
It's in transit right now. In less than 3 hours, I will be sitting with a new mac pro.

I wouldn't. Just _in case_ something goes wrong, you know if it's the computer or the RAM.
edit: ooops, I was a bit late with that...

Hopefully someone can educate me if I'm wrong.
