Francisco Tolmasky has only been at Apple since June so it would seem unlikely he's had much to add in the development of some new iTunes/Quicktime Player replacement. That's a BIG job, even if it needs doing desperately.
Tryst uses VLC for distributing video over a network. I doubt Apple would use that as a basis for video transmission on a network.
iTunes would be the likely place for a movie store but I wonder how much more they can shoehorn into it's creaky old OS9 interface. Perhaps we'll see a brand new iTunes today. Video management is pretty terrible already in iTunes without adding a movie store.
My new apartment is pretty nice and only about two blocks away from Apple so I can walk to work every day. As soon as I get the gallery up and running I’ll post some pictures of the inside, although it’s still pretty empty.

For instance Tryst is limited to streaming on one's own network which is really cool. But if iChat integrates this it would be network AND internet A/V streaming.
The thing I'm most curious about is which App theyre going to choose to integrate the new functionality.

One thing which nobody ever seems to mention is the iPod shuffle. I thought I heard a while back they were shrinking that down to the size of a thumb. Could that not be in the pipeline today???
On the other hand, he doesn't need to fork out for a car. Sometimes these cost of living things balance out for people that have different priorities.
That's true, it also means he increases his 'real' hourly pay by not having to commute four hours or more every day, which with Apple's fabled 90 hours a week is probably not possible.

They are going to stream it after the presentation is over. That's what they've been doing lately, though I don't know why, as they used to do it live.
I wish that they still did it live, I would even pay $1.99 to see it. Then I could later collect all the Steve Notes and watch them on an ipod.

Probably because it makes no money. But that said, it's likely the only iPod I'll ever buy, and it could use a couple of improvements. I would love to see it a bit smaller, but not too much (perhaps removing 15mm of height, 5mm of width and 2mm of depth) -- you still have to be able to hold it in your hand! And I wish it had some sort of screen -- even if it was only two lines of displayed text. But overall, the shuffle is perfect for me: it plays music and I don't have to carry around a cable to use it as a storage device.

the first thing im going to do when i download my first iTunes movie is sit back and watch it full screen to experience the comforting, vintage feel of low quality. then im going to luxuriate in the lack of commentary tracks and other silly "extras" or "bonuses". it's about the actual movie stupid!
They never do in my experience. A number of keynotes with new OS software have had crashes in them... I think the delay is more about putting some finishing touches in like good camera angles, etc.-it makes a much more cinematic experience- and having a better stream because not everyone is on at once.

Yup. If you watch closely, Jobs has a switch on the desk he's at. I think they also Remote Desktop in from behind the scenes to set the next demo up or reset the machine he's not using.
