Final Cut Pro and Canon?

Canon just announced a $1,500 handheld HDV camera. Amazing. Can't wait to see pictures from this one.

    Should work fine. Final Cut Pro should edit the HDV natively and Final Cut Express HD transcodes to Apple's Intermediate Codec before editing I believe.



    I think the Sony HC-3 still is more full featured but I like the price of this camera.



    And you're going to see the Canon HV10 at $1299 at most places and even lower online.

    The review from Camcorderinfo.com is in and scores really well.



    In short: It's great but some may not like the the upright design and the low light performance is "terrible."

    I'm editing right now an HDV movie in FCP 5 on a Dual G5 1.8, and it works flawlessly. The material is from a Sony camera, Canon should work fine as well. Amazing picture.
