I am running Folding@Home on my Mac Pro, and right now, it is only using up one of the cores. My computer stays on all day, so I feel like a lot of power is going to waste. Is there a way to make it use all four cores, or at least a whole processor?

    If the F@H client doesn't support multithreading, then no, there's no way. How many threads does Activity Monitor show for the process?

    I don't know if there's a native Intel binary yet. If not, it is going through Rosetta and that only uses one core. As suggested here:

    Just thought I'd ask this but I hear a lot about this folding @ home but I never hear much about what it is supposed to achieve. I think it's something about curing diseases but isn't it a bit like donating to Cancer Research? You can donate as much as you like but until someone actually comes up with a cure then it can partly be viewed as wasted resources.

    F@H is a program the folds proteins to help researchers better understand how cancer, alzheimers, or other diseases affect the body. And I am only donating my computers spare resources, so nothing is gone to waste. chack http://folding.stanford.edu/ for more information.
