Mouse keeps monitor from sleep

I have a MS Wireless Intellimouse that I use with My Quicksilver and 17" Studio display.

After a little troubleshooting, I have determined that the mouse has been the cause of my display not going to sleep.



Does anybody use another brand of wireless optical mouse that doesn't cause this? Logitech maybe?

    Interesting, I use a Logitech MX700 wireless mouse on my Powermac and a Microsoft Wireless Intelimouse on my iMac and neither has trouble sleeping.



    Probably just one of those quirks that can happen, an archive reinstall keeping all of your settings would probably rectify the problem.



    Are you using OS X 10.2?

    I have an iMac 800 using 10.2.2. I recently bought a Logitech MX700 mouse and have had problems waking from sleep, not falling asleep. (Not me personally, the computer)

    When using the keyboard to wake the computer, I get a freeze like never before. With a restart all is well. If I use the mouse wiggle to wake, no problems.

    An e-mail to logitech support only gave the response to download the latest driver, which I already have.

    Is it just a quirk? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    I have a MS Wireless Optical Blue, and haven't seen anything like this happen.

    I just did a completely clean install of 10.2 2 weeks ago. The same thing happened under previous versions, but it's gotten to the point where it really started to bug me so I decided to try to track down the cause.



    I have noticed that the light inside of the mouse constantly pulses. Maybe that is the cause, however, I don't know. I guess a call to MS tech support is in order.



    Another thing I just thought of. I'm not using the MS drivers. Is anybody else?

    This may be something different, but with my Apple Pro Mouse, sometimes the monitor will go to sleep, but then wake up less than a second later. Even if I'm nowhere near the computer. A reboot fixes this immediately...
