iSync, iCal and Address Book with mobile phones

I currently have a Sony P800 which I synchronise with my Mac using iSync via Bluetooth for calendar and contacts through iCal and Address Book. I am considering upgrading to either a Sony P990 or M600, and would like to know if these 2 phones both work well with Mac's ???

Also, apart from the camera which I will hardly ever use, is there any other reason to justify the P990, the M600 looks much less bulky ? I aren't too bothered by all the whistles and bells, so long as I can call, text, and arrange my diary in conjunction with my Mac, I have no other functional requirements. I do however want a full QWERTY keyboard as I have got used to this on my P800.

    Been given this link...

...but it doesn't list Sony Erricson handsets, and it requires Tiger, which my old G3PB isn't really up to running. Anyone any other suggestions ?

    Hi,

I am new to mac world so hope i can explain what I am trying to do. I used Entourage and I imported all my outlook contacts in my address book now. So that part is good. But now, I want to transfer my contacts from my cell phone to lets say a group in address book, edit those and then transfer back to cell phone. My problem is that I only want to sync those selected contacts. I want to keep my outlook contacts and cell phone contacts seperate. I do know that I can create groups within address book but how to do I differenciate between them. As soon as I try and do a sync, it puts everything together, there is no time stamp or date created so i cannot distinguish the two. Could you advise how to go about it? Thanks.

    Mr. A:

Look on the main iSync screen for your phone.

Look for a list next to the word "Syncronize:" that is set for "All Contacts"

If you click on All Contacts, you should be able to select a specific Group from your Address Book.

On a related note, I just got a Nokia 6133 from TMobile. Pretty nice phone, but to my surprise, when I tried to sync calendar and contacts using iSync, I got a popup window that says "Nokia 6133 This device not supported by iSync".

Anyone know how to make it compatible, without waiting for Apple to make it so?

If not, anyone know if the Moto V3t is compatible? I looked at the iSync page detailing supported phones, and there are many razr models listed, but not the V3t specifically. As an FYI, I'll paste that link below. Too bad, I really like Nokia stuff.

    Hi FormerLurker,

Thanks for the reply. The problem I have is that when I imported all my entourage contacts and my cell phone contacts, they are all listed in the common pool and I have no way of seperating them. I know I can create groups in address book but since there is no way of knowing which contacts were from cell phone and which from entourage...I will have to go through 1000 contacts to figure out and seperate them in 2 groups and then may be I can sync them back to my phone after making necessary changes. May be I am missing something..could you explain what you meant in detail, sorry I am new to mac. Thanks in advance.
