OK I know this topic has been talked about a lot, but what about the SuperDrive in the new 12" MiniPB? People in this thread are saying Disk Burner writes DVD-RW like Eugene, some say it won't (John Whitney.) I'm confused! Anyone with hands on experience on 12" PB SuperDrives?
I can't believe Apple doesn't officially allow you to use DVD-RW in iDVD if it's a DVD-RW drive. WTF?
By the way anyone know if Disk Burner will ever support sessions?

I also have a PB G4 with superdrive. I did a little investigating and believe it to be firmware. It *will* read a DVD-RW that has been written. It will not read it if it is blank. Why this is I am not sure...
I have not tried the switching trick, but if it works maybe it isn't firmware. In any case I am a bit disappointed in Apple for not being very helpful on this issue. DVD-RW is pretty prevalent, and as long as DVD-R is around DVD-RW will be. I don't understand why they would leave this issue unaddressed, especially when they offer iDVD and other programs that make DVD burning appealing. I would think they would want to give users the option to avoid several dollar coasters.
If anyone finds anything out, please share!! This is the most informative discussion I have found on the issue.
So what is the deal? Apparently desktops work, but with the switching trick. Eventually I assume Apple will update iDVD etc to officially support DVD-RW.
However what about the PowerBooks? Especially the 12" SuperDrive? Will it do DVD-RW at all?
