Upgrading videocard in PowerBook...

Hey guys,

I know I pretty much already know the answer, but is there any way to upgrade the videocard in the PowerBook (Titanium 867)? My guess is no, but I would much appreciate it. I suppose the videocard I have now isn't that bad (ATI Radion 9000 w/ 32MB), but I wouldn't mind upgrading in the future.

There is no way to upgrade it. In the PowerBook G3 Bronze onwards, everything is part of the logic board.

For those who have a Rage 128 or earlier, you might be able to run a GeForce 2 MX (Flashed PC edition) or Radeon 7000 inside a <a href="http://www.magma.com/pci/1slot.html"; target="_blank">PCI Expansion System</a>. These would even run Quartz Extreme with a preference hack.

When you're ready to upgrade the video, sell the 867 and buy the next model you want the better video of. 99.99% of Mac users wish they had the video you already have.

Ya, I never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it...you're right. Thanks

Don't worry about your video card, it'll last you. That 32 Mb rocks. If you really hate it, I'll take it.
