Flag Appeared on My Toolbar

An American Flag, which shows character pallettes, appeared on my Toolbar, and I cannot get rid of it.



Not to appear unpatriotic, I just have no need for it and want to get rid of it.

    Open system preferences then International => Input Menu => take the tick out of the box at the bottom with the name Show input in menu bar.



    It should be now gone.

    You can also hit Open-Apple and just drag it out of the menu bar.

    Cool ! I had no idea it could be dragged off, and it was neat to see that (hidden) check box.
