Can I add an AirPort Extreem car to an iMac/400 DV?

I looked around Apple's site, but found no mention of backwards compatibility of the new AirPort cards. They definitely look different, but will they work in the older models?

No, only in the BabyBook and Lapzilla.

I read your "BabyBook" and "LapZilla" comments first, before reading them in other threads...

I doesnt look like it as they areof a different form factor. I heard mention that BElkin was making an extreme pcmca card, but havent found squat yet. It would have been nice to be able to retrofit older models, but unfortunately Apple needs the new sales $$ more to stay afloat.

The card that I have seen from Belkin is a PC card that will go in the PC card slot on the side of the Powerbook. I do not think that this card will be able to be put inside the Powerbook in place of the Airport card.

And from what I have read, the new Mini-PCI Airport Extreme card will not fit in the internal cardbus slot used by the Airport card used on the Titanium and other Mac products.

I would love someone to prove me wrong here.

Too bad. I'll still go for the ApE Base staion though since I plan on getting a laptop w/in the 6mos.

On the bright side, maybe the old cards will drop in price.
