Got my first Mac

I got my iMac, and this is my first mac. I was wondering if there is any like utilities for mac, like on windows there is disk defragmenter, and clean disk, and check disk for errors...Is there any types of little utilites to check or clean your mac? If so how will they affect the mac?

    My life would be a lot harder without the following apps: Xupport (I like better than Onyx) http://xupport.ch/download.html is what I use for maintenance, SuperDuper http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDup...scription.html very easy to use app for external hd-backup.

    OSX defrags on the fly so you dont really need that stuff
