Macworld San Francisco 2007

With new MacBooks, New MacBook Pro's, new iPod nanos, new iPod shuffles, what do people see for MWSF 2007?

iTV is almost certain.

Widescreen iPod is possible, however, I think that remains unlikely.

iWork/iLife is certain (What do people think will happen with iWork/iLife?)

Everybody is hoping that Leopard is announced to be released very close to the time of Leopard's release. again here I think this is not very likely.

MacPros aren't usually things that are released at MWSF because they are pro products.

Cinema Displays could use a refresh, but again, I'd think that would be at NAB.

Aperture 2.0 will NOT come. 1.5 was just released a few months ago, and MWSF is a CONSUMER event, not a pro event. True Apple's pro computers can trump other products when it comes to consumer events, but Apple usually tries to avoid that as much as possible. Upgrade to .mac I agree with. Numbers I agree with (as part of iWork '07 for those who are lost), phone, I'm not sure if it will be ready.

iTV Will be announced, cheaper than Steve mentioned, and pre-orders accepted. Will ship Mar/Apr.

Leopard will be announced, shipping April.

iLife/iWork revision - Speed increases, Massive updates to iWeb (HTML editor please!) and iPhoto. iPhoto will have resizing options as well as more editing options (plugins supported maybe).

Updated Mac Pros with 8-core processors.

iMac upgrades (possible case revision, it's been a few years).

Mac Mini upgraded to Core 2 Duo. Price reduction (≈$100)

New iPod 6G, larger brighter screen. Several movie studios signed up for the iTS.

One more thing (more like a hope...)

Apple UMPC or Smartphone with much better integration into iCal, iTunes, Mail, etc... than current options.

They wouldn't announce Leopard 4 months before release. They will deff talk about it and reveal more features at the very least, but if they announce the release, it will be ~1 month later.

MacWorld ends on the 12th, April would only be 10 weeks away, but I see your point. However, Apple did say Q1 of 2007 which could be as late as April. So if you anticipate April, you'll be surpirsed if they ship earlier ;-).

I wasn't saying they wouldn't ship April -- that is entirely possible (and rather likely), but I think that if they did ship April, it wouldn't be announced till march or pos. let feb.

    Greetings,

I was thinking about this the other day.

? Recap of 2006 financials, Macs/iPods sold, growth of the company

? Preview of Leopard, with some more new features as-of-yet revealed

? New iLife '07 and iWork '07, including revamped Pages, Keynote, and new spreadsheeting Application; possible integration of these programs with Google.

? iTunes; sales and movies, iTV

? One more thing: 15.4-inch widescreen MacBook.

Cinema Displays could use a refresh, but again, I'd think that would be at NAD.

    ...

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm really looking forward to a new ACD,

but what and when is NAD - Google doesn't know what it is either.

    Thanks

Sorry, I mean't NAB (National Association for Broadcasters). They have a big convention in April every year which Apple attends.

    Predicting:

Lots of talk about Leopard and iTV (and its officially announced name). Both can be expected later in quarter but no date set.

New true video iPod. iPhone. iLife and iWork '07.

One more thing...new mid-range headless Mac with room for two hard drives and lots of memory, high speed wireless for use with iTV, upgradeable GPU but no PCI slots. (Can't have everything.)

    Sigh, back to reality now.

macworld is also a mac event. Steve Jobs said, "lets get to the macs, after all this is macworld" or something like that in jan 06.

Starting with the obvious (this is the order i predict BTW)

    iLife, iWork, .Mac upgrades

    iTV

    Then, because it is MacWorld

    updated mac mini (design, c2d)

    One More Thing...

    updated iPod

maybe Leopard release (if not, then certainly more preview)

maybe iPhone (or iPod might be the same thing, I'm not sure how these phone rumors make me feel)

I'm going along with your thinking, except for the last. I think the one more thing would be smaller than the MB. Apple has yet to take advantage of the really low power chips. So - 11-inch widescreen thinner than 1-inch with 10 hour battery life.

    Hopefully we we see:

[1] The development of iWork into a TRUE work package:

-- improved Pages (books, linking docs, better graphics)

-- Numbers or whatever its called: no spreadsheet, no work

-- Database (again, not too macy, but functional)

    >> Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iData

    [2] Improvements to iLife

-- iDraw (basic drawing app to replace AppleWorks Draw)

-- more editing features on iPhoto (AdobeElements -esque)

-- many more iMovie themes, effects

-- iWeb 2 (faster, more styles, etc)

    [3] Mini Mac Portable

-- Yes, they need to make a portable device and they would do it right

[4] Release of Leopard (Vista is ready...)

[5] iTV under whatever name they choose

[6] More movie downloads... in Japan, too, please!

    [7] New iPod

    [8] Free iPods for everyone

    8)

I think people are expecting too many things and they will all get piss off and disappointed. Historically I don't think Apple announces anything beyond two new hardware products or new designs for current products at MWSF.

So is either iPhone and widescreen iPod

    MacMini smaller format and iphone

and so on. 2 products guys

I agreed that software we will see updates for iWorks and iLife with new applications on both

as for Leopard is on the spring guys. Apple has no reason to fear Vista and speed up the release. We will see a better preview of Leopard at the conference.

As for iTV is also schedule for spring so I see no reason to rush it for MWSF.

Apple shows some new leopard features. Leopard release in March, or June. (probably released at WWDC)

Apple pre announces new dual 8 core (16 cores total) Mac Pro's to be released in March. Processors used will not be Kensington, or Clovertown, but the following generation versions.

iTV and maybe an iTV & MacMini combo w/special pricing.

I'm to tired to keep guessing.
