Before I junk this thing just wanted to get some feedback to see if this IPod is repairable.

20 GB ipod HP bough this ipod about 2 years ago from costco. (Wish I still had my recepit)

The problem: The screen is stuck on the the "Do not disconnect" Screen. the left side of the screen is blank, but more than half of the screen on the right is visible. The ipod is still warm and does not cool down.

Is this ipod worth the time and money to fix, or am I better off buying a new one.

Thanks for your help!

you can try to take it back to costco anyway. i've heard their return policy is "quite liberal". just tell them you bought it there, since you actually did. i bet they'll take it back. they're selling some of the last generation ones there now in my store.

mine got stuck (ipod photo) it would recharge then just stick on a screen and spin the disc till it discharged...

make sure you've tried all the apple help stuff and tried updateing the ipod first. that didnt work for me.

the apple rep i spoke to on the phone advised me to buy a new one!!!

i took it apart, well it was "broke" so it was worth the effort to TRY (easy enough to do google a good site and TAKE YOUR TIME) i disconnected the HD and the battery, then reconnected it plugged it in, updated the software, loaded up my songs and its been going like a champ ever since!

so its worth the effort if costco wont swap it/refund it
