  • Apple Pencil functionality compromised with third-party iPad parts

If I'm a pro, using a "pro" device, why would I want to risk my livelihood with ill-informed repair people?  Which is what this article really highlights.

  • Microsoft makes Outlook for Mac free

We should be paid to use Outlook. All of MS products are bloated to the point 90% of the features are worthless to most users.
That’s a major reason I don’t use Office Apps. sure I could use Word to do Legal Footnotes. I don’t ever need to do those. Sure I could use Excel to do Statistical functions. I don’t need to do that. The functions I need are buried under those that I don’t. Add to that the Ribbon, the single worst user interface ever created by man, that Microsoft took and set up in the absolutely worst way possible, and you see why I hate Office Apps.
I use Office at work (always have), and to this day I despise that ribbon, from the day I first encountered it in 2007.  You speak the truth.

  • How the Apple-Goldman Sachs relationship became an unhappy marriage

I get the squeaky-wheel syndrome in this thread,  but I’ve got to say, my experience with Apple Card has been the best of many decades of credit card experiences.  I have turned to them a number of times for various issues, some mine, some vendors’… and they haven’t let me down yet.  And messaging is arguably faster than waiting in a phone queue.

I dread the day the status quo inevitably changes.

  • iPad updated with A16 chip, still lacks Apple Intelligence

Apple is still also selling its first generation Apple Pencil as an optional accessory with this new 10th gen (11th gen) iPad. The first gen Apple Pencil pairs and charges via a lightning connector, but this iPad has USB C - so nobody will be able to pair it with this 2025 iPad! The second gen Apple Pencil with USB C, which is cheaper than the OG Apple Pencil, is the only viable pencil accessory. Sometimes, you must wonder what is going on in the minds of Apple’s product teams. 😆
Actually, Apple has a USB-C (male) to Lightning (female) dongle that fills the bill, in the event retailers have only the 1st gen Pencil in stock.  Yes, the dongle is breathtakingly priced… but desperate folk cope nonetheless.

  • Updated ambient light, proximity sensors in 'iPhone 7' prohibit use of legacy cases

I haven't used a screen protector since my first year of 4s ownership.  It rode around my pocket alongside change, a nail clipper, key ring.  Never any screen damage, and the tactile feel doesn't suck.

    Same goes for my SE.

  • Resisting Apple Pay, Walmart pushes its own e-wallet to over 500 retail stores

They're just catering to their clientele, who see Apple as elitist.
  • Kuo: Demand for new MacBook Pro models tepid due to high prices, disappointing specs

You know, throwing PRO in the name doesn't make it so!!!

Nor does buying something with "Pro" in its name make you a legit pro. It has mostly to do with your ability to deliver as an individual, of which your hardware figures in less than many people seem to think.

Real pros, in my experience, find a way to get the job done, with no whining (such as we've seen in abundance since the new laptop debuts).
