  • Hands on with the new features in watchOS 5.1.2

This update is killing my battery quick!  iPhone XS Max is barely making it .  Around 4:00 pm est I’m usually around 70%.  Currently at 39%.  Apple needs to test  these updates a lot better ...
Verify if it’s doing some god damn housekeeping or apps are doing the same, like always and wait a day or two before commenting. Otherwise,  stop yapping about it. You’re comment is basic noise considering it’s the same type of yap that happens on every single damn update for 10 years.

  • Blind comparison of photography on the iPhone XR versus Google Pixel 3 XL

White balance in iPhone XR is really lacking comparing to Pixel. It feels more like iPhone5s or old Sony TV with that bias and attempt to correct. Some low light is good, but others... hmmm.
Are you blind, it's opposite day, get a clue. It's even the opposite of what's said in the review.

  • Estimates peg Apple Watch at third place in wearables with 2.8M units in June quarter

So what is Apple's share of the Smart Watch Market PROFITS ??

PROFIT is the most important number, not marketshare.
    Only to the shareholders...
So, how the frack is that different than market share in a bunch of barely related market segment.... talk about a non sequitur. Do you have a point?

Ability to mark up a product reflects either scarcity or desirability. This translates into a lot of profits if the market is large enough.

So, there is a link beyond  share holders, an unprofitable product is a dead product and maybe even a dead company even if you sell a lot. not only that it impacts future support or development, which affects people's willingness to spend on the brand in the future: see Sony...

You can't mark up a shit product and that's why profits matter beyond shareholders; it is intimally linked to the market, the people who buy the product and the value they assign to the product in theirs lives beyond the BOM.

Apple is a valuable brand because it generates value for both the consumer, the company and the shareholders
Steve Jobs made that same point about pricing the original Macintosh...
... Oh wait!  He didn't.   He argued against it.
WTF point are you even making, you make less and less sense every time you speak.

Crapping out Jobs name (and "spirit" (sic)) without even referring to any of my many points in my text is not an answer; it's the epitome of laziness.

So go talk to yourself, or imaginary Jobs cause he's surely a better conversation than you.
  • Colbert's 'Late Show' skewers cost, content of Apple's new design book

    Most specialized Texbooks are $200+.
Coffee table books are always quite expensive too.

Most people .talking about this have no clue and are not the target audience for this.
They probably never bought a book over $30..

Man, Colbert's show is now a piece of shit.

    Clinton and Cook?

They'd be like orange juice and toothpaste together.

For those who like to hear both sides of a story, go to www.breitbart.com on a regular basis to find out why.
Give me cycling break, Breitbarts guy runs the god damn Trump campaign and besides extreme xenophobia and misogyny and sucking the tit of every conspiracy, I don't see another side

  • Uber unleashes experimental self-driving car on streets of Pittsburgh

Their so called service model is not that profitable if they actually respect the law. That's the thing.
Taxi service can be even better than what Uber offer now, if its done correctly
The lack of incentive to improve in the US is what made Taxi worse than it should have done.
Like I said, there is starting to be major push back on Uber (and the like); either they conform or they pack up.

Uber pretty much respects the law. Sure, they challenge it when they believe it is being unfairly applied, but most time they actually win or make small reasonable changes to make the governing bodies happy. Only in very rare, but public, instances do they come to an impasse and are forced to leave. Most people only have a bad opinion of Uber based on what they read in the press. The overwhelming majority of people's experience with Uber is positive. If this wasn't the case, they would have no business to sustain.

Taxi service was never a viable alternative to the service Uber is providing. Other than in dense cities were taxis considered for anything other than getting home drunk or going to and from the airport. Many people have now considered Uber and Lyft as alternatives to everyday driving or even owning a car all together. That is a big shift from the perception of taxis.

There is very little pushback on Uber (or Lyft) currently. They are already deeply entrenched in the markets where they operate and there is significant demand in new markets for them to enter. In just a few short years "Uber" has become pretty ingrained in our lexicon and if you were to say out loud Ii'm going to call an Uber" or "I'll Uber over" I'm certain very few people would even think twice about what you said much less question the ethics of the company despite what is circulating in the press.
I told you how it is around here, they are not respecting fracking laws : get a clue.

So... Apple is in the textbook business now? Or the coffee table book business?

The Mac Pro is too niche to bother updating, but the opportunities in the coffee table book industry are worth pursuing?

The issue here is that this book is a giant waste of time for any Apple employee with any meaningful responsibility for anything (like, for example, Jony Ive). It's vanity, it's navel gazing, it's a distraction. It's not something that a person focused on changing the world would do. It's something to do at the end of a career, or it's something to outsource.

If this is how Ive wants to spend his time these days he should really just retire, or maybe become an advisor. Let someone else step into the role of lead designer.
Good fracking god buddy, Apple has a marketing department, a communication department, a customer relationship department.
They have a huge varied public and not all of them are you! That should be obvious...
Institutional memory is important to a company like Apple and the people that have lived and been influenced by this company for 40 years.

Go beyond your fucking self; everyone's not you.
The Mac Pro has been updated as much as can be with current tech, so again major no sequitur whining.
Many people actually like the current design.

So, if airplay the news, why go on on specs like a spec jockey.
Funny specs are not important now for Android in Marketing yet that's all we hear from the tech press about their phone.

Did they license it (doubtful) or reverse engineer it (probable)?
There is a licensing agreement between Apple, and HTC whose specifics are not known.

HTC has been an Apple Licensee for years now.
Really, please post me a HTC link then; should be easy. Otherwise I'll think you're talking crap.
