  • Apple Watch holiday sales volume beat entire Swiss watch industry for first time

Interesting as all the negative people who said this wouldn't work. Just like the Apple Home Pod speaker right now. When will people learn that its Apple slow march to perfection that makes their products so good? Never enough credit for their accomplishments...

  • Apple hourly workers feel helpless under punishing pressure & mistreatment

Lots of hate here coming from people who haven't done the job? Also as a former retail employee I can confirm for sure that it did and does suck big time. Working retail is not easy and most here putting down Apple employee couldn't do the job or even get this job as terrible as it can be (who would want it). Managers due suck big time and the worse thing is Apple tries to push the cool aid big time. Lots of people drink it but I wish they would just be honest with people. That's the thing that really makes this bad is the promise is not reality. This is the real problem... working at a fast food place most people don't think its a good job with fair pay and fair treatment. Working for Apple they like to mask the reality and it pisses people off when they don't get the prize. Its all smoke and mirrors...

Please appreciate your retail and support employees as most of them are working above their pay grade. They try to make the best of the situation and work hard for all the Apple fans.

However Apple does have great benefits and for the old timers like me who were smart left working at the mall with over a million in stock. Stock purchase plan was insane and buying shares for $1.10 adds up quick. Splits and more splits and constant share price increase is amazing. IMO you will see Apple at $400 a share in 5 years or less with no split. Big thing are coming and it's not going to stop for awhile. My advise is buy as many shares and you can and max out your 401K like I did. You still have a chance to get to the millionaire+ mall club!

  • NLRB certifies union election win for Apple Towson Town Center employees

I find it interesting that people who have never worked for Apple even comment on this? You have no idea what it is or was like and I can tell you from first-hand experience that it has not always been a positive one. Instead of blaming people for wanting a better work environment, why do they want to organize in the first place? Apple can and should be THE best place to work not any other way. Their products are second to none and the workplace for everyone should be the same. It is that simple and in the end, it would benefit them greatly to do so. Blame management, not the workers like they are greedy children who don't have any work ethic or pride in their job.

Insanely great. But what did this cost me, as an Apple shareholder? Betting my dividends would be higher if Apple spent a teeeeeny bit less on these eclectic and expensive stores that are popping up. Apple customers don't need a "floating dome" to shop for Apple goods and services. A mall store is just fine for me.

Comments like this remind me of why our world is so messed up. Humans are selfish, and not out of survival like the rest of nature.

So how is Apple's hard work at padding your pockets bringing value into your life? Do you drive an expensive car or a junker, just to be practical? Do you own a large screen TV or just read a book at night?

It goes both ways. Apple's investment in the "Apple experience" is why sales remain strong.
Actually, my wife and I drive Volvos. A 2013 S60 and a 2022 XC40, both Platinum trim, paid for in cash. Between our Apple, Microsoft, two utility and 5 oil company stocks, the dividends throw off enough cash to buy a new one (about $45-$50K each) every two years. My 2013 has only 28,000 garage kept miles on it, so I'm keeping it, even though I'd like a new one. Maybe if Apple paid me a special dividend or raised the dividend, I'd get a new 2023, even though my '13 is near mint. But I'm a lifelong gearhead, so cars are near the top of my spending priorities.

Our TV is only 43." And I read lots of books, too, mostly from the library. We have no debt; not cars, not mortgage, not credit card.

To put it in terms no millennial will ever understand, but every Boomer will, "You can't spend or borrow your way to prosperity."
To put it in terms that YOU will never understand, every single word of this post is cringe.

What’s cring is people competing to be more wholly than thou are? Who are any of you to criticize this person for their opinion as he can spend his money on what he wants to spend it on and you have no say. Apple has Millions of shareholders they all have different perspectives, and none of them is more important than the next. He is no more greedy than you are. Stop being so pc and trying to outdo each other with who is more holy. I’m sure you do everything with everyone else in mind every day. Never thinking of yourself. Ridiculous! Also, Apple is not a charity and was created by greedy people. No one is innocent…

  • US Customs says it can search iPhones, but not cloud services

No probable cause, no warrant, no way!

This is how the system is set up and if they want in then they need to do it legally. It's that simple.

Why do people give away their freedoms and rights for FAKE security? The Terrorist Threat in almost nonexistent and not worth your freedoms and our money. We spend billions for security to protect us from absolutely nothing when it comes to this statistically. It's all FAKE and agenda driven. Here a list of thing that REALLY kill American's so maybe we should ban these things. How many people die from T in the USA each year? Almost none. Only 30 people have died from terrorism since 2001. More Americans have died from squirrel and raccoon attacks than have died from terrorism since 9/11.

Let's do the math... 30 people since 9/11 is less than 2 people a year. If you include 9/11 it's 178 a year. Still way less...

    - Slip and Falls "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over one million Americans suffer a slip, trip, and fall injury and over 17, 000 people die in the U.S. annually because of these injuries."

    - Bicycles "
In 2015 in the United States, over 1,000 bicyclists died and there were almost 467,000 bicycle-related injuries."

    - 300,000 Americans die of obesity every year.

    - 40,000 Americans per year die of car accidents.

    - 550,000 Americans per year die of cancer.

    - Drowning 2000

    - Poisoning 39,000

    - Fires 2700

    Chocking 2500

    So sad!

  • Following Apple's decline, Foxconn reports first sales dip in 25 years

This is so stupid... stop making it sound like the company is going out of business. A sales decline of an amazing number is still amazing! Apple make a larger profit in 1 quarter than most companies out there. Stop trying to manipulate the stock...

  • Apple's new iPad mini 6 might have a scrolling glitch

I stopped by an Apple Store and tested it out on eight minis that were on display and all of them have the wobble. I did have a genius appointment set up to address the issue but I knew after seeing that that it was nothing they could fix. Obviously no way to know if it’s a hardware or a software issue. Thinking about potentially returning the mini but I would say that they all have it. So to check you can go to photos and go to the vertical orientation and move it back-and-forth and you should see the wobble or a bowing effect. Now if you’re not looking for it you might not notice but it is there. So again in my opinion all minis have the wobble unless Apple uses different screens from different manufacturers.

I work in the visual fields so it’s real obvious to me. I also called APPLE to let them know about it. It will be interesting to see if anything is done. Hopefully a software issue. I also have three other minis going back many generations and none of them displayed this visual anomaly.

  • Maryland Apple Store first to vote in favor of unionization

Happy for them, more to follow. However, this has already caused Apple to up the quality of the work environment. Apple should have done this years ago without the threat of a union. Retail was always treated as second-class employees. No excuses for the resources Apple has and the employee quality they expected (at least back when it all started).

As a former original employee back in the day, it was dark times as we worked our asses off. Common to work 10 days in a row and less than 10 hours between shifts. A brutal work environment with non-stop interaction with customers. None existent break rooms, no room to store lunches, and dirty and gross bathrooms were the norm. Low pay, bad management, and tons of unrealistic goals. Apple lost a ton of really talented people as they worked people to their breaking point. A high-quality customer experience was expected with many salespeople toping over a million dollars in sales in stores that did around 20 million or less. Lots of add-on goals with high-profit margins were expected.

For the newbies, really don't know how much easier they have it. However, I believe the higher the pay the better the employees and ultimately better customer experience. Apple really does care about its customers. Retail employees not so much but it is getting better.

For those who will say if you don't like it leave for another job. When retail started most customers had no idea how hard this job is and couldn't do it themself if they tried. Some really smart and caring people worked in the trenches and help build this giant company. As for myself, I left with over a million in stock so while it was hell I came away with a big win. It's not uncoming for original retail employees walking away with that much and more. Well, the ones who bought the stock when it was super cheap. Very few millionaire retail mall employees in this country but the ones who are are some of the smartest hard-working people you will ever meet in any industry. I don't think this is possible at any other retail company for non-management employees. Hats off to all of you and good luck to the new people.

That goes both ways. You can't just blame management, because there are in fact entitled children today who have no idea what a work ethic even is. Have you been out in the world? All you need is one extremely lazy and entitled person to stir the pot, especially if they have an infectious (poisonous) personality and bunch of naïve co-workers who "see" greener pastures in what they're being told.

Also, you don't have to work for a particular company to know that every work experience is different for every single individual. Work ethics vary from person to person. And expectations vary from company to company and even store to store sometimes. The managers of some of these stores might be tyrants and be the driving force of these unionizations. This happens in large corporations all the time when an employee can't relay their grievances to the proper "higher up" or doesn't know how.
Sorry, you don't know what you're talking about? I have first-hand knowledge of this! So many crappy things that retail put up with are unacceptable for a company like this. While there may have been and certainly could be lazy retail people these issues are from the past not now. These issues have been here since day one of retail and since we know now that Ron Jonson filed for bankruptcy he was a crappy boss back in the day. He must still be? How does that happen (I digress)? There are more great retail employees than the bad ones I can assure you of that.

As far as management goes they set the tone and set the pay. It starts with them and ends with them. Apple can and should do better its that simple. They expect it from their products as well as their people. They are so inclusive of people's rights but the biggest right is great pay, not ok pay. You show respect by giving people choices and that's what money does, it give you choices. Not having money forces things upon you that might not be in your best interest. In the end, it's good for everyone. Apple is a great company but they could do so much better on the people side for retail.

  • US lawmakers query Apple, Alphabet CEOs over smartphone personal data policies

Fortress USA wants to know what you're doing at all times. Protect us from a non-existent threat of the boogeyman to the tune of Billions of dollars. More people die from slipping in the bath tube so with that in mind lets install a camera in everyone bathtub so they can be safer. Who cares about their privacy right? We have the right to privacy and should not give it away. Apple is fighting the good fight and needs to keep doing this for its customers. This is one of the most important things Apple is doing right now and it almost gets no play or support.
