If I'm doing this correctly....
For 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD, the cheapest 2020 model would be $1399 and the 2019 one is $1569.  Hmmmmm.  Should I pull the trigger or wait until the newbies get discounted a bit?

I was all excited to buy the Jet Black version, but why is Apple forcing you to upgrade to 128GB for that one?  Is it me, or is that just a bit sleazy?  They figure it will be a hot color (something they realized after discontinuing it, I guess?) so now they are essentially charging more for it?

Honestly, I would totally a buy a new MBP right now if it were not for the price.  I am in disbelief at how expensive they are given the minor improvements YoY, and it's amazing the number of people who defend Apple's practices.  I think if the same 13" laptop were $1999, some of them would still support Apple.

Think about how often you see people with an iPhone or a MacBook.

Now think about how often you see someone with an Apple Watch.

Exactly.

I'm sure Apple decided well in advance that -- to preserve their reputation -- they would give the AW experiment at least two "runs," and possibly three.  But I can guarantee you the product has not done as well as expected.  I would be very surprised if there is a fourth series, and would not be shocked if they discontinue it next year.

Until they convince people of why they need both a phone and a watch, it will not be a success.
