AirTag review: sets out to do one thing, and does it near perfectly
What the AirTags need is geofencing, specifically selectable geofencing. If I'm in a busy airport I want to know immediately any time my carryon or my messenger bag leaves my side — whether I forget to grab it of if it wanders 10 feet away.On a train where my bag is on the luggage rack on the other end of the car I want to know if it suddenly moves to the next car.I know this will drain the battery but that's why it needs to be selectable so I can turn it off when I'm in my hotel room. -

If your Apple Vision Pro gets stolen, Find My won't help you get it back
This begs the question: Why didn't Apple include a tiny rechargeable battery in the VisionPro headset?
When the main battery dies, or if you simply swap the main battery, the headset must be rebooted.
Yes you can recharge the main battery while using the device but that may not be feasible when at a work site.
A small rechargeable battery in the headset could maintain low power during a battery swap and power an AirTag.
I see others have already proposed this for the next version. -
Roadside Assistance via Satellite provides more help for iPhone users
jellybelly said:By free service, I assume you mean just the calling feature (satellite only needed if out of cell range), not the fix- it truck or tow you get. That would be a separate service that has its own cost. If that service stop is covered for two years, that would be way too amazing to believe.I do think an edit is in order to prevent false expectations of what is free for two years. It’s not obvious to all that will read the article.Otherwise, great news and lots of fast reporting on Apple’s reveal event.
* Except that one year back in the 1970s, while I was a struggling student, when they kicked me out because I ran out of gas 24 times in 6 months. LOL. -
