Apple Maps renames Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America after official database update
If you bend your knee for the little things, how willing are you to bend your knee for the big things?
Is rounding up documented immigrants along with the undocumented too much?
Is taking away a child's citizenship because of the color of their skin too much?
Would you let them put your child in a camp because of who they love?

Apple's $100 billion investment has almost nothing to do with US iPhone manufacturing
It's funny because it's true. A phony 24-Karat "award" and a promise to invest $100 million in an existing Apple glass supplier is all it takes to convince Mein Taco to remove all tariffs from Apple chips manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan. In any other administration, giving the President an $800,000 chunk of gold and an engraved "one of one" glass disk (relatively cheap to a company with a 3.26 trillion market cap) would be a major scandal. But now you just have to laugh — if not to cry. -

Apple now expected to unveil HomeOS, related hardware ahead of 2026 WWDC
I feel that's gonna do it for me.
I've been using HomeKit exclusively for some years now. But there are too many capabilities and too many devices which escape HomeKit and Siri.
I'm going to have to begin shifting away from HomeKit and toward Alexa just to be able to fully utilize many of the capabilities of the devices I already own. -
Craig Federighi says macOS would ruin what makes the iPad special
It's not "simplicity" keeping Apple from enabling multiple user accounts on iPad OS, or iOS for that matter.
It's greed: Apple wants to sell more devices. They don't want parents sharing their devices with their children. And they don't want power users consolidating their accounts onto fewer devices.
That's fine for some but is a burden for struggling families and travelers.
Oddly enough, VisionOS appears to now support multiple user accounts, albeit linked to individual iPhones.
