Unfortunately, most cashiers don't understand how Apple Pay or Android Pay works either, or if their store even supports it. I've used Apple Pay at lots of smaller shops that had no clue what it was, how it worked or it they supported it. They were thrilled when I showed them.

You don't have to wait that long, CurrentC (the technology behind Walmart Pay) already had a data breach on October 29, 2014. Walmart has suffered data breaches in thof past too. Many of the other backers of the CurrentC technology, such as Best Buy, Dunkin Dounuts, Kohl's, and Rite Aid, just to name a few, have long since stopped backing CurrentC and now (or soon will) support Apple Pay and Android Pay.
