  • Musk threatens to walk away from Twitter deal over high fake user count

If the deal falls through I think the SEC would have a good case of fraud to bring against Musk. Looking like this was all theatre from the get-go.
On what grounds?  This is part of the negotiation process, which can be public as well as private.  Musk likely thinks he can get a better price.  And Twitter‘s board of directors have made some serious mistakes and given him the upper hand.  It’s nothing more than managerial incompetence, and Musk is exploiting it.  Nothing illegal about that.

  • How Apple could approach a folding iPhone

While on the subject of judging ideas, well, foldable phones is a lousy one. 👎

  • Twitter staff nearly decimated by Musk's 'extremely hardcore' demand

LOL Those posts here saying that Musk is just clearing out the dead wood, that Twitter staff was full of people that weren’t working hard, weren’t pulling their weight really crack me up. Do you really think that 75%+ of the staff weren’t needed? Do you really think the site that had trouble staying up last World Cup will do just fine with not just people, but whole departments gone? With Content Moderation crippled? With  Public Relations and Communications dark? With most of the programmers and infrastructure people not there, or at best spending time looking to get out? Do you honestly think that by selectively driving away the most experienced, most talented, most capable members of the staff, the site will somehow work better?

Get real. This fiasco will be used by business schools in the future of exactly how not to take over a company. As an example of precisely how not to treat your staff. As Exhibit A of managers that did not know WTH they were doing.
That 75% number appears to be BS.  It’s hater talking points.

The Twitter employees who are leaving won’t be around to undermine the new boss.  It’s a good way to clear house.  Obviously, many posters here think that Twitter was just fine and dandy befits big bad Elon showed up.  Twitter was bonkers partisan.  It was a poorly run profitless shit show.  Arbitrary enforcement of their rules undermined its credibility.  Musk is putting and end to it.  And he’s going to to it with committed people and not those who would secretly try to undermine him.

  • Apple Car project loses another executive six months after hire

Eight long years of spinning it’s wheels.  Seems someone could have done a moon program in that time.  I suspect that it’s a simple lack of unifying vision.  No single leader to take it by the balls.  Jobs would have killed the project early on or driven it to completion.

Do or do not.  There is no try.

Does this indicate Adobe’s decline in relevance?  Years ago I was all in on Adobe.  But they priced themselves out of the non-commercial market and I dropped them like a hot potato.

  • Twitter frustrating developers as it cuts off some third-party apps

Free speech my a$$. Controlled access via the official app isn’t free speech, it’s authoritarian.
The revulsion of Musk on display by a number of posters to this forum is strongly reminiscent of the oddball and whacky hatred many felt toward Steve Jobs.  Both were industry disrupters who made enemies simply because they threatened the entrenched and lucrative interests of formerly established players.  Both also had the habit of speaking their minds, enraging some, while generating new followers and reshaping the world.

  • Apple's North Carolina campus is still coming, but when is the question

The loss of state incentives for not having a hired 126 employees locally really shouldn’t be much of a loss for Apple. In fact, I would look down upon the company if that was the primary reason for locating and Research Triangle Park.  It’s just wouldn’t be a good luck for the richest publicly traded company on the face of the planet.

I would be far more interested in news of the building architecture and accompanying landscape design.  Of course, $1 billion is modest compared to the $5 billion Apple spent on the Apple Park in Cupertino.  Nevertheless, they ought to be able to come up with something very nice.

  • Apple corporate staffers have returned to Apple Park, one day a week

With Bay Area traffic being so bad, I almost sympathize with those who don't want to resume their commute.  But it's the job they signed up for.  If management wants them back then that's what they'll need to do.  I'm sure many other companies would be happy to acquire the talents of those who wish to remain working from home.  Maybe they can find new jobs, which better align with their desires.

My only warning is that if you want to move up the ranks, you'll need to show your face in the office.  You may not like it.  But that's the reality.
