  • Egypt's foreign trade minister is asking for a local Apple Store

Great, I wonder if there are sites in Cairo that allow an unobstructed view of the pyramids from the store. That would be awesome!
The Giza pyramids are about 12 miles away from Cairo,
they might be tough to see from Cairo.

  • iOS 18.6 arrives with a Photos improvement and bug fixes

At last it looks like I'll finally be upgrading from iOS 17 to iOS 18 in the next few days. Same with migrating from iPadOS 17 to iPadOS 18 as well as macOS Sonoma to macOS Sequoia.

As usual I will wait until at least June 2026 to install iOS 26/iPadOS 26 and macOS 26 Tahoe.
Totally up to you. But I have no idea what you are waiting for.

  • MacBook Air update arrives with lower starting price & M4 performance boost

I’m curious what happens to the Walmart MacBook Air. 699 for an M1 is seeming less compelling now.
Unless you still have a 2018 intel i5 like me 😊

  • New iPhone Fold leak details screen resolutions & under-display camera

So now it’s a folding screen that’s not even that much bigger than an existing iPhone? This rumor is really doubling down on the unlikely scenario that Apple would release an iPhone that’s more fragile, will have an inferior camera due to reduced thickness, adds bloat to iOS, and costs a lot more just to deliver the brief novelty of “hey, look, it folds!” Add to that a significant chance of a hefty tariff by the time of the alleged release, and you can really figure this will never see the light of day.

I'm still waiting to see a viable use case. I feel like this is the Netbook all over again, except at least with those they were cheap so everyone was producing them in droves... except Apple.
I did search on google asking what advantages a folding phone has.  Bottom line, it sounds like a load of nonsense and maybe questionable unwanted things.   I mean, really, are most people going to put up with having to fold and unfold phones?  It reminds me of pouch style phone cases.  They have advantages, but yet most people won’t use them because of the extra work involved with putting it on and off.

  • Buy a 2.4-inch Macintosh before Apple stops you

Well,  it would be nice for Apple to tell their lawyers to stand down and embrace this tribute product.

  • iPhone 17 may have been spotted in the wild

There is something just not right with the picture of the guy with the sunglasses.  If you zoom in and look at reflection in the sunglasses,  you would think the lady with the black hair would be there.  In addition, in one side of the sunglasses shows a face at the bottom, it kind of resembles somebody that we’ve seen?    Is this a staged pic?

  • Apple shareholders sue over Siri delays and massive losses

The debacle of Apple advertising “Apple Intelligence” before it was ready may be the beginning of the end of the Tim Cook era.

I so love the convenience of TouchID on my SE3, superior to FaceID, I would say. Sad to see fingerprint sensor ditched on iPhones :(
Yeah,  why can’t we get an iPhone with under screen Touch ID?  Android phones have had that for years it seems.  Not everyone is keen to keep having their face scanned and hopefully there is no long term harm to the eyes.

  • Inside Apple TV 4K -- the best addition to your TV set

Well,  I’d you’re someone who likes Apple TV and wants Apple type interface on your TV and maybe other things too,  that’s great.  But,  I started using Roku recently and love it.  A $30 go anywhere streaming box led to a new Roku TV.  Yes, Roku makes TV’s, in 3 price and features classes.  My iPhone and MacBook get plenty of use.  I find it refreshing to use something different than Apple.

The remote control on the Roku is great.  The Roku channel has amazing variety and much of it is free.  The Roku OS is fast and great to use.

It’s a bit subjective to call any of these devices the “best”,  like this article does.    The best is what works for you.  For me, it’s Roku.
