I think it's time for the gloves to come off. honestly... this is a disgrace. How long are you guys across the pond (westwards, to be clear) watching this disaster unfolding?

Yes the US are very important for the whole world's economy, but there's limits to everything. We should stop this appeasing and just call out things what they are. The US government decided that diplomacy is no longer "in", so the rest of the world should not be trying to uphold principles towards the US that are not reciprocated.
“Time for the gloves to come off”.    LoL.  The EU has no technology.    Zero. Nothing.   That is why it spends all its time with bureaucracy  and trying to fine everyone

Go ahead and “take your gloves off”  LoL
    Technology isn't everything.

There is an EU document out there from the pandemic period analysing strategic dependencies between the EU and other countries/trading blocs.

The US was dependent on the EU for over 260 products.

The EU was dependent on the US for 15.

Areas where the EU was ahead included Advanced manufacturing, IoT, security, advanced materials, photonics and active ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry.

Most of that happens to involve 'technology'.

“An EU document out there”.   LoL

The EU is a leader in NONE of those examples you give.   NONE.    You really think the EU leads the US in advanced materials?    What are you smoking.   I’m surprised you did not list Spotify as your leading tech company
Which US company is ahead of ASML?

  • OpenAI's $6.5B bet on Jony Ive could redefine how people interact with technology

I find ChatGPT extremely useful. Right now I'm using it to understand the design and production testing of free space laser communications terminals used to communicate between LEO and GEO satellites, aircraft and ground stations. About two weeks ago I was having it help me troubleshoot an alignment/calibration issue I have with the optical module in a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M scanner. I've used it to analyze results for PCB layouts that I have simulated in HFSS. I think the first time I started using it was to help decode proofs written in shorthand Einstein notation (summation convention) used in relativity to do calculations quickly for high level tensors that I needed to understand in a book I had on piezoelectronics. So I find it very helpful.
Did you ask ChatGPT to make up an assortment of impressive sounding uses for ChatGPT?

  • Inside Apple Books -- the best app for book lovers

Shame that they're so rough on the eyes when using an Apple device.  An e-bookstore without an e-ink reader is a losing proposition.

  • Apple's next-generation 'CarPlay Ultra' is finally here

I can't see how Apple's strategy here is going to stand any significant chance against Android Auto, which has a big head start, more flexibility, and doesn't have any issue with the car owner having the other type of phone.  The Apple UI is nice, but doesn't add much.

  • Calls for Tim Cook's resignation over Apple Intelligence miss that he has made Apple what ...

Cook was an outstanding COO. He became CEO of the most valuable company and kept it like that for the most. Car, AVP, TV+ expenses, panic move away from China, and AI… he is no product or project person. He won’t push Apple forward.

That is a misleading statement. Cook did not "....... became CEO of the most valuable company". When Cook took over as CEO (after Jobs passing in 2011), Apple, Inc. only had a market cap of about $375B. Apple Inc. did not become the most valuable company until over 7 years later, with Cook as CEO. Apple became the first $1T US company (by market cap) in 2018. The first $2T in 2020 and the first $3T in 2024. Not bad by any metric, for a CEO that bungled its EV venture.
Not all that misleading.  Apple briefly became the worlds most valuable company in 2011, and vied for the top spot with Exxon for the following few years.  The $1tn market cap milestone was a different matter.

Except for then going to the forum section on a tech website's article to let us know how fleeting your momentary amusement was. 🙄
That wasn't prompted by Apple's marketing so much as the absurdly long article explaining how clever it was.

  • EU will force Apple to totally expose its iPhone features to all who ask

Excellent work by the EU.  Apple dug their own hole here.
