Editorial: An ad-free, premium social network... from Apple
AppleInsider said:…This would further distinguish Apple as a premium brand in stark contrast to Microsoft's willingness to shovel ads into Windows 10, Google's lackadaisical approach to users security, privacy and hate speech and Facebook's intense effort to profile users and sell them to its advertisers as a product.

Colbert's 'Late Show' skewers cost, content of Apple's new design book
blastdoor said:That book is like a giant "kick me" sign on Apple's back.
The fact that Apple put the sign there themselves means they deserve every kick they get.
I for one do not understand the hate. Is it because people fear Apple becoming complacent? Having said that, what they've achieved is quite remarkable. If not for Apple, we'd still have to deal with mediocrity. Apple is the new Bauhaus. A book is a fitting tribute. Or dare I say closure? Here's to the next 20 years.

Adobe did a great job with Creative cloud and Behance. They are building a creative community around their tools. Notice how everything is integrated into their Adobe website: your profile, access to Behance, and their products.
True, the functionality of Behance is a bit limited. But again, it is a solid foundation to build upon. Much more relevant to creative professionals than the career focused corporate LinkedIn.
I hope someone at Apple takes notice. Apple has great products and services, but they are all over the place, without any sense of purpose. Shame.

iPhone X took over two years to develop, marks new chapter in iPhone design, says Jony Ive...
At first I was horrified, but I must admit, the notch has grown on me … I really like it, it makes the iPhone distinguishable.
A silver back would make this iPhone truly irresistible. With chrome edges, it would make iPhone X very reminiscent to the original iPhone. Perhaps with iPhone X series 2?

Schiller refutes book's account that he demanded physical keyboard in early iPhone
I am surprised Phil Schiller was a strong advocate for the hard keyboard as he was the one who came up with the innovative scroll wheel idea for the iPod at the time.
Best is to verify the facts with other people that attended the early iPhone meetings. Something the author of the book should have done from the beginning …
