That’s me. I tried using Siri/HomeKit a few times to control my lights, but it’s slow and unreliable (“Device is not responding.”). Meanwhile, Alexa and Ms. Google are fast and do it right every time. So I haven’t even tried HomeKit in over a year.

How about fixing all the bugs in your existing products first?

It _is_ more cumbersome. Whenever there's a long line at the checkout I just stick my card in the slot instead of fumbling to get the double-click right, select the right card, then hope I'm holding the phone at just the right spot while holding my finger, careful not to actually press the button, so as to avoid the ire of those waiting.

I think this is a mistake. No one wants a small phone (except maybe people who have never used a larger one). Even 12 million might be on the optimistic side.

I use it sometimes just for fun, both in the U.S. and in Taiwan, but the truth is it's often slower than swiping and takes about the same amount of time as dipping. It really is a solution in search of a problem.
