  • Apple's anticompetitive behavior has 'gotten worse,' Tile tells congressional panel

Just go to the Settings app and “Always Allow” will be inside the location settings of every app that requests for location. Not that hard.
Exactly what I was going to post - the functionality exists today, and as far as I know, was never removed; it was just removed as a default choice.

  • Tile refreshes lineup with new design & anti-stalking feature

Sorrry, Tile. I was a Tile customer for years, but their network just can’t touch Apple’s Find My network. I still have a Tile Slim in my wallet, but everything else has been replaced with Air Tags. Tile has better form factors, but forgoing the Find My network was a big mistake. Like most everyone I know, I am an Apple user, and could care less about Android support. Lately, I’ve checked on the location of AirTags that were left in my car in both an airport parking lot, as well as a parking lot at my work. Despite having not been near my car for hours (or days), the location of my AirTags was updated every 15 minute to half hour, which was certainly never the case with Tile. I once left a Tile in a Bluetooth headphones case that I left on an airplane. The location was updated once, and then never again.
I’m guessing that Apple will eventually come out with additional form factors for the AirTags. When they do, the decision to just go with Apple will be even easier. And when Tile becomes mostly something that only Android users would want to use, they’re done. This is likely the beginning of the end for them.

  • Belkin pauses Matter support in smart home devices

All of this nonsense is why when I built my current house, it was all done with Control4. I have one app that controls everything in my house, from A/V, to lights, to blinds, to door locks, etc, and it can do damn near anything you can think up. Most importantly, it’s rock solid. Yes, it’s more expensive, but I’m willing to pay the price to have things that work together, work properly, and work every time. And not have to remember what app does what!
