I haven't seen this many trolls in one place for a while. Apple's new iPhones must be very threatening to these guys. However, the nice hardware is really only a fraction of the experience. Apple takes responsibility for, and delivers, a full ex…

The watches released today underscore how much Apple's designs dictate the direction of the tech industry. Without an innovative model to work from, these companies produce products that are, at best, expected. At worst, they seem to be kludgy pro…

After thinking about this a bit, I have two thoughts: 1. This move is generally bad for consumers. 2. Adobe will be successful, because we will all be forced to adopt CC. Adobe has not offered me a compelling, feature-based rea…

I'm trying to not have a knee-jerk reaction to Adobe's announcement, but it's hard. Since Adobe last changed their strategy and started the suite-centric approach, I've had to buy bundled apps that I don't use in order to get the ones I need…

I've been happy with the update on my '11 MBA, and use Notification Center more than I expected. Twice since the update, my machine has experienced some kind of wake-from-sleep problem. When this has happened, the machine is unresponsive a…

Lion is made for SSDs, so I hope Apple moves aggressively in the direction of making them standard equipment. Until I bought my MBA, I couldn't have imagined the difference that SSDs make in the overall speed and responsiveness of the Mac.

Forgive my ignorance, but what can you do with an unlocked phone?

First of all, I'm happy that we are starting to hear about a timeframe for the new iMacs. I can suck it up for a few more months. I love the iMacs design, and have a hard time envisioning major changes that would improve the aesthetic. It sound…

I hope the timeframe mentioned in this article is wrong. As someone who is ready to buy an iMac, the second half of the year seems like a long wait.

The writing on AI has been getting really bad. I read the second paragraph a few times to make sure I wasn't missing something. Quote: "Apple blog iMore has "heard" from unnamed sources that the iPhone maker is in 2010, and the technology found…

The focus of Samsung's commercial seems totally off. Their ads depict iPhone users who become envious of the Samsung phone and make a switch. So, the ads are clearly targeted at people who are considering or currently use an iPhone. That said, …

1) Launch pad configuration I use a control panel to control the app display in LP. Without this, I find LP to be an unusable mess. Any word on adjustments here? 2) Mission Control (with a second monitor) Before Lion, I could use spaces to mov…

There are quite a few of you posting to this thread who are complaining about "feature creep" in Lion. After using the OS full-time, I disagree with the way you are framing the new features of Lion. These new elements (Mission Control, LaunchPad, a…

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I love lion. I recently bought an MBA and am working on it all day while I'm onsite at a client's office. It took a few days to get used to, but the new paradigms introduced-mission control, launch pad, ge…
