Do you work at any studios? Because I do. I mentioned over 3 months ago that paramount would drop support for HD-DVD and switch to blu-ray. Warner Bros, and Universal plan to announce the same thing at the time. What you fail to realize is that Sony…

well at least intel ships things AHEAD of schedule! Welcome changed from some other cough cough processor manufactures

macs can only handle windows media 9, and at that very poorly. Most of the content on the MTV site is windows media 10. You cannot view any of the content unless you have Microsoft Windows installed.

This is a welcoming addition to OS X VNC

Oh that's fantastic. New screens, and what after only 3 years? So now I'll have a beautiful screen to continue seeing that wonderful rainbow beachball on. But now it will be even clearer. SWEET! Quote: Originally posted by satchmo If the art…

Yes they clog easy do the the ink type. All Epson printers currently have the same poor printhead design. Just junk it. I used to be a fanatic for Epsons printers. Finally tried out canon ip8500 and I'm NEVER going to use epson ever again. You wo…

I think it will be powerbooks inline with updated g4 powerbooks. Think about it. Apple introduces an Intel based mac-mini that is faster that all those dual g5s... Just doesn't sit right with me. Might just be a tower mac with intel processor, so…

it's a really nice phone, but it's going to take a serious hack on the phone to use the feature set since bluetooth is crippled by verizon. If you get the USB datacable for it (you can connect to bitpim via bluetooth i think) you can use the free…

word on what street? the DRM ability in these chipsets WILL not be used to control OS installation, or how OS X installs on Intel chipsets. And that's not the word on the streets, that's me telling you straight out the way it is. Quote: Original…

Okay now everyone who actually makes their living with after effects, and cinema 4d raise their hands? 2. Photoshop is much slower on mac according to tomshardware if you try it out on some of his slightly less biased tests. 3. At least with i…

let me put it this way. When is the last time you saw the beachball on your dual 2.5 ghz machine? I see it at least twice a day... I have yet to see it on my single processor intel devkit running OS X. How slow is iPhoto for you? Because iPhoto …

It might not be an "official" valid benchmark but most of us spend our days in a web browser. a 3.8ghz pc is signifigantly faster than any of my g5 dual 2.5 computers with any browser. i'll be glad when we finally have computers that have ghz that a…

That memory generic vs. "name brand" is a scam. don't believe it because somebody who has interest in selling you higher priced ram tells you that. Why don't you search the internet for "generic ram compared" or other things. You'll see that gene…

A french paper wrong again? ;-)

yawn... Nothing truly important runs on Windows. Just because end-users at your typical company use windows doesn't mean our important servers are.. In the US powergrids are on solaris, fyi. Quote: Originally posted by FallenFromTheTree …

GRR. There will be no altivec on any future Intel mac. I can confirm this 100%. Apple will take advatage of other technologies, like oh a computer that's 2 GHZ faster! There is also intel multimedia unit which they will make use of. BUT READ MY L…

Who told you it's dead? A bunch of mac zeliots? It's not. Intel's strategy is based off x86 variants. I think the crazy mac people here are just unfamilar with windows hardware, saying that's it's virtual the same technology that's in a 486 is an id…

The XBENCH numbers are absolutely stupid. Anyone who looks at those # and claims that it can IN ANY WAY MEASURE performance on INTEL computer with OS X is just wrong. Macrumors claims it should be nearly the same, in emulation, what a joke. If it…

Apple software is natively compiled. Every Apple application in the last 5 years has an Intel version. The intel board also has PCI express ;-) It's fast. I'd like one to replace my dual 2.5 ghz at home. For browsing and stuff it was much faster.…
