I just read a speed test between the new intel and AMD dual core chips. AMD crushed intel in content creating (photoshop, web, etc) and intel crushed every other system by a big margin besides the AMD boxes. Big big jumps in 2D and video work. If Ap…

one ray of hope seems to be Steves involvment with ultra high end video, and Apples passion for high end production software. Why make this amazing stuff like FCP studio to compete with Avid, only to have it run on lackluster equipment? Theres more…

I'd be discouraged if it were not for this one ray of hope. AMD and intel are both anouncing there dual core chips on the 18th and 20th (or there abouts) it would be clasic apple to be the "first" with a quad and get the added headlines by anouncing…

I cant believe that would be the yearly update for there Pro line. they need to spark sales of the big iron which in turn will look good for there pro Apps. I'm believing for more than a 2.7FX.... it that's it, it would suck.

this from macrumors page 2 article... Quote: According to an anonymous report, Apple and ATI have been in talks about either creating or purchasing a Game Development unit. The purpose of such a division would presumably be to create compelli…

i'd be happy even with four. One bay for a really fast boot drive, two for an array, and one for a huge backup drive.

I had my heart set o the 30", but the more I think about the Dell 23", it sounds tempting. I'd have enough left over to put a 19" CRT (like hte LaCie) next to it for checking color critical work, and have 1700 left for more ram and an array. I would…

i wonder how the color accuracy is on these units? I understand the Apple displays are the only LCD's swop certified for displaying proof accurate color. Not sure how much of this is just marketing jargon however...

What would you guys choose, a Dual proc 3 or a quad 2.2 for heavy 2D work? (photoshop/illy/indesign)

F*** the eMac and iMac. I know there vital to Apples health, and i'm all for the line improving accross the board, but I want a new PM tower that comes with nitrous tanks and airbags baby!

I've got a good feeling about April 1st as well. It looks like they have some big news, I'm guessing it might be more that just OSX Tiger! From the Backpage section of Appleinsider... According to numerous reports, Apple has recently provided …

What would lead a cutting edge, powerful company like IBM to leave out an onboard memory controller if it could impact performance in such a huge way? Is it much more expensive to produce? Any guestimates on how much of a performance boost it would …
