Nitride: 1) true to an extent. what you said is true, but Motorola has yet to produce 8500s that are consistantly stable above speeds that look like iBook and iMac processors. 2) you should concidder looking at the iBrick forum.

The other problem appears t obe heat and the PPC processors and apple have never had problems running on low power conumption or on keeping cool. Of course this is in relation to the Intel and AMD chips. Heck, when the P4 burst into the market ne…

The new era for compters is about functionality... Ask not where your computer came from, but what your computer can do for you! My little dual 450 G4 still runs all the apps that I need and pphotoshop (which is what I use mostly) better than m…

If you have several devices running off of the same FW (not port, but say card) do they all run at the lowest speed there?

Take a look at the XServe Archetecture. I believe that, as speculated before, Apple will actually employ a seperate bus for the memory. They have obviously been playing arround with juggling around plans and demos whith edited busses and putting d…

I've been saying rackmount server for 2 years... and iPhoto ever since iTunes came out... you bet that there's something floating around Apple that is in this area... it'll just be a while comming imho.

At one point, ABC actually launched a show that had products featured in the show. It was quickly cancelled for a couple of reasons: 1) the show itself was not great 2) they realized that nobody would have reruns because they can't show new ads. …

1) There's nothing to prevent me from simply editing my VHS tape so that commercials aren't on it anymore. 2) There's nothing that says that skipping ads is a function su[pported by this device 3) There's nothing to say that a set-top-box would no…

1. AGP, but no PCI slots (don't know anybody that uses them) 2. Smaller hard disks (don't need anything like 40GB) I've got a problem with each of these... I'll start with # 2. COME ON! I don't know what kind of Graphic Design you do, but …

I get teh feeling that these speed-ups of the announcements and lines will incicate a large jusp comming... these things are not get it out of the way' updates... I think that the lines will take off soon. AND I think that Apple is crunching with t…

reealistically couldn't the RAM be on a seperate bus from the rest of the mobo... I think that I saw this... That would mean that they could push the RAM up and still leave everything else behind untill they can get an archetecture that supposrts p…

you hay have pegged it here... but I wouldn't suggest the quads just yet... I think that whatever hits the servers (interms of multiple processors) will hit the desktops first because of the heat factor.

Quite frankly, we're just finally seeing the transition from the announcements-only-at-expos to the announcemenets-whenever-we-can-to-keep-Apple-in-the-news theories.
