This is just a minor annoyance, but I wish Safari would handle autocompletion the same way as Firefox - that is, leaving the line you're typing alone, and presenting all the autocomplete options on lines below it. Safari's behavior is annoying as he…

I was nervous about all the problems that people had posted on discussions.apple.com. But then mine arrived, and it's just perfect. Sound problems (crackling...) - Nope. Processor noise - Yes, and this was the one that really worried me. But easil…

Many free text editors these days have grep-capable search-and-replace. With grep, you can make text do anything you want it to. This program seems nice and easy to use if you don't want to bother learning grep syntax, however.

Apple used to bundle OmniGraffle with new Macs. If you're looking for a consumer-level Illustrator substitute with ease of use that makes Apple proud, look no further. It's an awesome app, and makes very pretty pictures very easily. There's no reaso…

I had to dredge up this thread for my spankin'-new MBP 2.0:Quote: Automatic Processor Detection found 2 processor cores. Playing 10000000 games across 2 cores... Time elapsed for 10000000 solutions was 41.894183 seconds. ... Time elapsed for 10…

My MBP, just arrived, has the noise. It's annoying, but easy to get rid of. It's apparently caused by a voltage change as the second processor goes into deep sleep. So if you use just enough CPU to keep it out of sleep, no noise. Red Sweater wrote a…

Well that explains the share "sale" we were wondering about. Nice story, and good job making the arcane bookkeeping comprehensible for the rest of us.

Wait, is this like the Microsoft equivalent of Yellow Box for Windows? Write in .Net, compile to run anywhere?
