  • Thanks again for the info - it is a PowerBook or nothing - yours thoughts are very similar to my own - I'm not looking at a MacBook now, nice though it is. The PowerBook is cheap, matches my screen, and the poorer 12" screen isn't a big drawback due…
  • Ye, I don't think you'll get top dollar for them. Since when did this become a marketplace anyway?
  • Thanks for the info - useful comments but I'm still pondering. Apart from anything, I still need to check if it has Tiger and what iLife version it has. Another thought - Apple state that you can run it in lid closed mode using a USB keyboard and…
  • I set up and installed my Mum's 1.83GHz MacBook and have used it for a few hours. It seemed fast enough, noticeably faster than my 1.42GHz Mac mini with 1GB of RAM. Not a fair comparison I know, but it seemed plenty fast to me for day to day tasks.
  • Cool mockup, but there is still the age old question of whether the shuffle will be updated at all or just dropped. Also, an FM radio seems very un-Apple now, and wireless headphones are quite unlikely for a shuffle. My £0.02. Great mock-ups though!
  • Why bump when you are already at the top of the bloody page? Anyway, to answer your question, you seem to have decided that you are getting one already and just want someone else to tell you it's ok. So if it helps keep you quite, go ahead - buy …
  • At only two months old, I reckon it'll be a good few months before the next bump. Buy buy buy

  • Another vote for the JBL Creatures here. I got some after deciding that the Harmon Kardons Soundsticks were too pricey. They are half the price, and whilst not quite as good sounding, are still excellent. I have them in white, but you can also get t…

  • A mac mini speed bump would be nice given the new Mac Book specs. I don't think the current Mac mini is brilliantly specced and could use a little bump.
  • I saw a completely unbiased report in which the iPod won the group test. I work in a store that sells both and both have their problems - we get a few faulty iPods back, but Creatives also seem to have a problem with the FM radio disappearing from t…
  • The timing of the big press release is irrelevant to some extent - the fanatics will notice the specs today, and the press can be reminded if they need to at the New York launch I'm sure.
  • Now that it supports an external display without just mirroring, I wonder if I could run it with the lid closed using my bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Thoughts? Nice specs - looks like the Mac mini could use a speed bump / price drop soon too now…
  • I think it is quite likely - the thought has occurred to me before - they used to have three Mac minis, and in my opinion they are not quite suchgood value as before (if you look at hard drive space for your $ etc). I think it is quite likely that t…
