  • We have a 400mhz iMacDVSE graphite that my daughter uses for schoolwork and communicating with her friends. It is up to date with Tiger. We put a 7200 rpm hard drive in it a few years back when the original broke and gave it a gig of RAM. While …

  • Great move by Apple with a nice setup. Some of you people just overthink everything. Name one product, on this planet, of any kind, released to the public for use or consumption that was perfect and needed no modifications or improvements. …
  • I could see them bundling it for free. Seems they don't make much off of it the way it is now.
  • That's a nice post Dave. I think Leopard will be out after the January show just so Apple can sell iLife, iWork, etc at that time. Then a couple of months later they can get us all lathered up to lay out some more green for Leopard.
  • I mostly cuss Office (Word) because it's styles are so difficult to use and a shared Word file can quickly turn into a disaster. But I don't remember having trouble opening any word files, no matter the antiquity, with Mac Office.
  • A company I used to work for gave a bunch of us VAIO's. That turned out to be a pretty short run experiment.
  • The KC Apple Store has 768MB on their MacBooks and Office seems to work fine in my time testing it out. Of course, we are going to put 2gigs in my son's college machine so it shouldn't be a problem at all.
  • I don't care whether they compete with MS or Dell. The iPod pushed Apple along at a time when they needed some zing, both financially and public relations wise. Now with the intel processor and the new hardware, Apple will start hauling the mone…

  • Windows has to be faster because you click two to three times more often than on the Mac. It will be interesting to see what Vista does to this equation.
  • This is obviously an attempt to complete Vista sometime in our lifetime. Humans have so far failed to get it done.

  • .Mac is just too easy. Every time I consider changing (at re-enrollment time) I quickly come back to the ease of use thing. Like so many other things Apple does, they see the current solutions out there, recognize how disjointed it is, and c…

  • 1000:1. But, I could be wrong.
  • I have always purchased generic, less expensive memory. Just get it from places that give you a lifetime guarantee. No problems here.
