  • LiteSwitch wasn't worth $15 anyway. You don't pay $15 to put up an application switcher. That's just plain retarded, especially since the Dock doubled as it in 10.2 anyway. And yeah, they may have those little options, but it's still not worth $15. …
  • That comes with losing the toolbar and sidebar, though, which is the bad part. I'm thinking that the toolbar button should only get rid of the uh..toolbar. The sidebar should have it's own button that slides it away.
  • My Expose functions are pretty fast too, and I'm the one on the 500mhz G3 iMac (512MB of RAM added, by the way, to make it 640). And the PTH apps just might I think. I was trying to use it but I couldn't activate it..unless I forgot the key you w…
  • I like Panther. I'm not gonna chant for joy, but there are a few things I like. - Expose of course. I can easily access the Finder using F11, and switch windows using F9 (or that secret blob.. ) - The new Finder. Yeah, a lot of people don't like…
  • I never had a problem with that printer either. I had it back when there was a Performa 6400/180 in the house, running Mac OS 8.6 I think.
  • Pretty good tool. I think I'll keep it.
  • Amazing! That's what I was thinking about last night! It would be very convenient if the Services Menu was in the contextual menus. The service I use most often is TextEdit > Open Selection. That way, I can make a TextEdit file out of any tex…
  • I think a one-windowed Finder would be nice too. Everybody has different opinions about this obviously, so if it were ever implemented it would best be done as an option (just like Safari).
  • Tabbed Finder windows would be a cool idea. Just drag an item to a tab, then it shows you its contents. Just think about it! I think it would be cool.

  • Yeah, they don't get the word out enough I don't think. I'd tell people about OS X and they'd probably be like wtf is that? Tell somebody about Windows XP, and they know what I'm talking about. Maybe an OS X advertisement, if that makes sense at …
  • The voice is pretty clean and understandable in my opinion. If I remember (lol), I'll probably set that to default when Panther comes (even though i don't use Speech a lot anyway...)
  • You can also control click and hold option. And yes, if the application's not responding, they'll give you an option to force quit.
  • Hmm...maybe, if the application you're in is not responding, the Force Quit menu item should stand out a little more. Maybe that would be annoying, though. I dunno :-D
  • Quote: Originally posted by hmurchison Steve. Actually I truly believe that Panther is that year off. Look at the amount of new features in Jaguar as opposed to Panther. Panther, to me, seem like primarily a nuts and bolts updated with a…
  • I'm willing to hear the new voice. Come forth, Panther!
  • Quote: Originally posted by Steve Apple should give us a year off after Panther. They've fixed the most glaring problems and missing features (i.e. the Finder, some UI issues, window management with Expose, fast-user switching, etc.), and the spe…
  • What was the 10.0 wheel? Someone wanna give a quick history of the Mac OS 10 wait wheel?
  • Quote: Originally posted by Brad Yeah, that's been mentioned. It was actually a feature that was present in 10.2 Jaguar developer builds but was pulled in the later builds just before GM. Um...why the heck would they pull that?
  • I use Safari basically. I can't get used to anything else because I only back up my Safari bookmarks, and I just can't get the feel for any other browser anymore (obviously except for IE in OS 9).
