  • The droids at Arstechnica would not like that article.
  • Piss on Intel. They are betting on the wrong horse. Yeah, USB is popular but I just feel that Firewire has more legs in higher end stuff. You know, video and minor stuff like that.
  • Hard to say just how long the Apollos have been in production. I think we could easily see 1.4 GHZ by MWNY. Maybe even 1.6 GHZ. Of course, it all depends what Apple has in mind. I really think the Apollos are more for Powerbooks (The fast chip…
  • Whoever would go over the fence and join the PC crowd was never a Mac fan to begin with. Glad to see you bought into all the Wintel marketing hype. It will be fun watching them come clamoring back when the G5's hit.
  • The 500 dollar drop on the highend was nice. $2999.00 just sounds alot better than $3499.00. I think 3 models from $1499 to $2999.00 will do the trick. A $750.00 gap between the models is perfect. I am more excited now than I have ever been. S…
  • There is a possibility it might not be all Moto. Apple will be including lots of new technology in these new machines. Faster ram, faster bus speeds, firewire 2, etc. A new chipset has to be developed as well. Lots of things involved. I do not…
  • Apple needs to get as far away from OS 9 as they can, and fast. I just somehow believe that somewhere in OS X there is a power hit being done by the inclusion of Mac OS X's "Classic" mode. I would die to have a version of OS X with classic be…
  • I think that I do believe him. He was quite right once. True, was not right the second time but it just goes to show that Apple is not going to keep to his product release timeframe. Apple will release new hardware when they are ready. He real…
  • I really do not think Apple will change the case for a G4 revision. G5? Quite possible.
  • If the new machines have GeForce 4's in them, It would seem like they would be announced the 1st week of February. Isn't nVidia announcing their new chip on Feb. 4th or 5th?

  • The lowend model is total crap. The highend iMac dumps on it really. Thats a lowend radeon. I think a GeForce 2 MX is a bit more powerful. The HD is smaller and no SD. WTF is that? The GeForce 4 in the other models is really sweet, if true.
  • I feel the longer the current PM's remain on sale, the closer G5 PM's are to becoming reality. Apple just has to put some distance between the PM's and iMacs. I think the Apollos are for Powerbooks and future iMac and iBook revisions.Apple nee…
  • I am pretty high on the Sony/IBM/Toshiba alliance. The "Cell" chip looks to be something incredibly stunning. Hell, I bet that baby would be able to emulate a PowerPC architecture without barely breaking a sweat. Sadly, its still a few years o…
  • Definetely a Powermac with a G5, surfing AI, and laughing his ass off. [ 01-20-2002: Message edited by: Cobra ]
  • I would love to see GeForce 3's across the board. Superdrives as well. Here you go: 933, 1.13 GHZ, 1 GHZ dual 256, 256, 512 ram 60, 80, 100 HD's Ge Force 3 on all models Superdrives on all models 1699.00, 2299.00, 2999.00
  • Apple will never produce a LCD iMac with a G3 processor. I also firmly believe the 15" LCD screen size will be the minimum as well. A CDR-W drive will be a minimum as well. I am talking about the new iMacs. I will also say that this will…
  • Oh by all means, buy now. You are only going to see a 133 MHZ speed increase next week. Certainly nothing to write home about.
  • Great news. This tablet BS is so nauseating. Truthfully. What the hell is the big deal about these things. Underpowered and overpriced. But, hey. If you like that, good for you.
  • As the new iMac has a Superdrive, all PM's will have a Superdrive. I think its the video card that might differ. Here are my predictions. Lowend: 1.0 GHZ G4 256 MB ram 60 GB HD Superdrive GeForce 2 MX Same case $1699.00 Mid: 1.4 GH…
  • [quote]Macintosh computer with G3, G4, or G5 processor and at least 96 Mbytes of memory, running Mac OS-X. I always thought 128 MB ram was minimum for OS X. Alas, another bogus "sighting".
