  • Unless Apple goes with a complete redesign of the iBook, the next revision will likely just bump a number of features. As a student, I would like to see Airport standard on the iBooks (instead of being a $100CND option). We'll probably see minor …

  • You know, I was relatively tolerant regarding the choice of using a GeForce FX 5200, until I did a quick search on the 'net and started reading reviews. This chip was a budget choice well over a year ago, and the older GeForce 4 Ti 4200s pretty m…
  • I don't really like the design personally, I think the massive front bezel is pretty ugly. As someone else suggested on the thread, I'll have to wait and see it in person, but I truly expected more from Apple.
  • Quote: Originally posted by onlooker It';s funny how they all go Ooooo, and Ahhh , but hasn't IBM been selling dual core Power CPU's for a while already? I may be mistaken. I think that's correct, but the huge difference here is the pricepoi…

  • Two comments on this. First, I think that if Apple ships base models with 256MB, they will will be upgradeable to 512MB or more of RAM, so I don't really think that shipping with only 256MB is that big of a deal, particularly given how cheap RAM is …
  • Quote: Originally posted by peanut I read the X800 is PCIe [PCI express] *only*. So you need a revision of the whole chip set. Maybe for the upcoming iMac or possibly an updated Powerbook line? PCIe may mean updateable graphics cards for both…
  • My guess would be a GeForce 6600 series video chip, or possibly the ATI X600. The pricepoint is certainly about right for the former, as speculated about courtesy of the Inquirer here: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=17812

  • Interesting analyst release, but for some reason the wording of it really bugs me. Maybe just an example of a techie dumbing down something for general consumption?
  • I had the pleasure *cough* of having network administration duties (approx 15 workstations and a server) at a company I worked for prior to starting college/university, as part of my overall job description. I was primarily brought onboard to redesi…
