  • This is hardly just a Dell issue... it's fairly common for notebook manufacturers (and even some desktop ones) to put their USB ports on top of each other. If you have two pretty hefty USB plugs, they won't both fit. It seems like such an easy thi…
  • It does sort of suck that the black MacBook is so much more expensive. But, from a business point of view... why not? You can get an equally good white MacBook at a lower price. Chances are, if you're going to get a MacBook, you're going to get a…
  • I have a black MacBook also and I can't say I have experienced any "stalls". What do you mean by "this machine just isn't stable"? Are you having crashes... lock-ups? do you mean just the stalling. I'm sure iDVD isn't running in Rosetta... but ev…
  • Granted... there are lots of new people... but isn't that a good thing? Sure they don't know proper etiquette yet... but that will come. Lets just be happy that the Mac community is growing.
  • You can't really give entry level employees free reign to waive fees when they want (they'll have all their friends come in, etc.). There needs to be some over site. While it would be nice for every company to always do what's best for the customer…

  • Just figured I'd throw my two cents in... I've had a MacBook since they were released and have not had any problems. The new Intel MacBooks & MacBook Pros have been wildly successful for Apple. Of the tons they've sold, a very small percentage…
  • In general, people seem to prefer to flat black vs. a glossy black (think Nano with about 20 times the surface area... finger prints and smudges everywhere). You should do a search on the forum for your other questions. Everything you have asked a…
  • I've had a black MacBook since launch without any problems. Are you using BootCamp by any chance? There have been some known funky issues with booting into Windows and then booting into OS X (this is not the case if you're using Parallels).
  • All operating systems will use a swap or page file. Basically... if your memory usage is maxed out... the OS dumps data it is still using to the hard drive (as sort of auxiliary... but orders of magnitude slower RAM). The size of this page/swap fi…
  • You'll need to go into your trackpad preferences and enable the two finger click option. By default, you place two fingers on the trackpad... and while they're on the trackpad, click the trackpad button... this will behave as a "right click". If y…
  • Parallels is a great option... especially since you don't really have any of the driver issues that you might have under BootCamp. The trackpad under Parallels works just like you're still in OS X (unlike when you load XP through BootCamp).
  • While they're at it... they should make the white Apple logo on the lid black too... it doesn't match the rest of the MacBook... it's such an eye-sore. :-)
  • "Windows work on mac's, not like on PC's, but it works." Actually... Windows works exactly the same on a MacBook as it would on any PC notebook. When you boot into Windows on a MacBook... it is basically a PC. There are a few annoying factors f…
  • Or go with Parallels... you can set up shared folders between OS X and XP. One other major advantage (for me anyway) of Parallels is the trackpad works the same in XP as it does in OS X... scrolling... tapping... etc. I know some people hate "tap …
  • It doesn't seem to have been a significant omission... just some tweaks to OpenGL. There have been a few updates since .7. I don't see why they had to go back and update .7 instead of just sending this out as another update.
