  • I've already started mine a few weeks ago. I'm going to stop swearing. That's right, no *F* word(!) So far I've had a few relapses but I'm working on it!! Corvette - you know what's funny, your New Year's resolution is usually my birthday…
  • What the hell are you guys, Jehovah's Witnesses? I'm not converting no one. If they want to use Windows and an ugly beige box, then they deserve it.
  • SWD2001, looks like we're getting into what to me, is already a tired debate. I invite you to come over to the Motley Fool message boards to discuss the issue - of course you'll have to read back about 10K posts, but suffice to say, the economic nu…
  • SDW2001: 1. I'd certainly take Rick1138's indicator over the government-fudged ones. In the first 6 months you mentioned, everyone was in denial, even though the writing was long on the wall. Now that they're admitting it, they're already calli…
  • I'd have to say no. It's funny because as most of you probably know, the economic numbers and so-called "leading indicators" are saying the economy is recovering thanks to the economic stimulus from the government. The problem is, if that is the…

  • [quote]Originally posted by The Rootwitch: Liv Tyler is a hottie. Could you imagine having Steve Tyler (of Aerosmith) as your father-in-law? Schweet!!
  • Ok, maybe I don't get it, but for me, I find Britney Spears unattractive. In fact, she looks like trailer trash. Some examples of who I think are babes: Julia Stiles, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kirsten Dunst, Kristina Loken, Liv Tyler.
  • It's about effing time!! Major props to you Leonis!! I still can't believe how someone as talented as you could have attracted so little interest for so long!! Glad to see that perhaps there is justice and equality in this world, where talent and…
  • My last job (Senior Stock Researcher/Writer for an investment firm in CO) was awesome, and I lucked into it the "ShadyG" way. I just graduated University in spring 2000, majored in business management, minored in finance, but in the last 3 years …
  • My condolesences to you and your ex. Can't even begin to imagine how I would feel in her position, sounds like she's handling it well. One thing to keep in mind - I remember when I was a kid, say 15 years ago, if you had any form of cancer at al…
  • Oh gee, no journalistic/poltiical bias here, even though the writer of the second article is of Jewish faith.
  • is it ossible for you to put ANYTHING in perspective? > BeOS 5 Pro on Performa 6360= 10 > OS X 10.1.2 on dual 800= 5 or 6. By that measure it would make OS X on my iBook 500 = 2.5 tops, which is about right.
  • [quote]Originally posted by Adam11: Sounds like a ram problem I think...? Cheers adam If the above is for me, then I disagree. If 320 megs of RAM is not enough to run an OS and a word processor, then it's bloatware (which it is). Thank you…
  • I think it's OS X is too slow on my machine (see below). Office X on OS X on my iBook is especially glacial - I can type faster than Word can display my text. That makes it unusable for me.
  • [quote]Originally posted by thentro: For all those who think OSX is slow, where are the spots that bug you the most? The GUI - the entire GUI.
  • I agree with Andrew's original article, OS X's underpinnings are compelling, and his reasons on why Aqua is flawed are I have an iBook as well (see below for specs), and like Charles Moore who runs and similar machine (Pismo 500), it does not ru…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Fluffy: The Information ?and another! [ 01-05-2002: Message edited by: Fluffy ] Wow, those look impressive, expensive, and kinda scary. I'd be too creeped out to walk down my hallway at night if I had one of …
  • [quote]Originally posted by Scott H.: Too bad it runs more like Garfield. LOL!! It's funny because it's true!! Next time around, maybe they could name the 10.3 "Markie", my friend's orange tabby. It's big, fat, slow and does nothing all day…
  • [quote]Originally posted by catalyst: OS X Java definitely outperforms OS 9's, and I am *quite* certain that the Windows implementation of Java isn't as good as Mac OS X's. Also, I guess Mac OS X's Java VM is almost like the other *nix's, and …
