Edit: Meh, responded to a question that had already been addressed.

I'm using FTP to upload (to) web sites. If you're asking for help regarding pirated movies, music, you won't get far here. AppleInsider is against piracy, and any attempt to post information that can be useful for finding such wares will result i…

133 MHz bus then. But you go, enjoy the dual 1.25. :-)

I wouldn't bother with the single under any condition, except with a severe price difference. Even if the games don't take advantage of the duals, you'd still have an advantage as the user could keep his apps running (many apps consumes CPU without …

Get the dual or regret it for the rest of the time you own that computer. The 1.42 GHz processor is just marginally better than one 1.25 GHz (you won't notice it), but when you gang up two against one ...

I will probably never buy an iMac again, unless they make it upgradeable and headless. :-)

Hollenshead said that yesterday in his .plan. webdog.org :-)

I expect to see the iMac 3, which'll both surprise and disappoint (the surprise is not necessarily disappointment). As for the graphics card debate, I think the iMac should get at least a 9600 XT with 128MB on-board RAM, like in the PowerMac. It'…

Fruity Loops is much more than a loop sequencer. http://www.e-officedirect.com/FLStud...sh/frames.html VSTi support in GarageBand would be very nice. As for broso007, Propellerheads Reason 2.5 is really good stuff as well. Doesn't support exte…

Jade: If they can't help skimping on features, let them skimp on something that's user upgradeable. Skimping on RAM and hard-drive is better than skimping on video card and processor.

Yes, Altivec is irrelevant for the Cinema 4D potential, since the C4D rendering engine computes with 64 bit floating point values (double precision). Altivec doesn't support more than 32 bit floats, which makes it unsuitable for C4D.

What if increasing core frequency is easier than increasing FSB frequency? And cheaper? What if increasing FSB bandwidth didn't actually increase performance in any substantial (or measurable) way? How about "simply" ditching the FSB like AMD …

Hahahaha! The iMac at WWDC rumors might not be a laughing matter in the big halls of Cupertino. On the other hand, my halls ... I don't see iMacs as anything developers would have interest in, other than "Nice for Apple!", if them new ones sh…
