I'd snap up an Apple UMPC, and there really is no reason not to release one. Sony's offering is lovely despite its 4.5" screen.

It seems to be a reader only, not a BD-Writer. But it does burn DVDs and CDs.

I like DV tapes because they are 5 for £10, and my HC1 plays the DV tapes I made in 1998. Panasonic, Sony et al need to realise people value backward compatibility highly too.

HDV - 60 minutes of HD footage on really cheap DV tape. AVC - 20 minutes of HD footage on expensive discs. Okay, I'm biased as I have a HDR-HC1 but why is AVCHD better?

That's true, but the PS3 at E305 was just a case, with no innards. Sony, much like Apple, seems to be cooling its love of Firewire/iLink. Current PS2s lack it too sadly.
