  • OWC sells a kit for about $12 that has all the screwdrivers that you would need to replace memory or the hard drive on the Macbook
  • Make sure you have the latest drivers--if you just Goolgle epson perfection 640u you will see a list of drivers--there are drivers for the Intel Mac listed.
  • I personally would not buy from these guys--there are reliable vendors out there--maybe more expensive, but reliable-- Crucial and OWC have reputations to uphold and have many users who are happy with their products--
  • I use Fidelity active trader--a really good streaming quote program than I can use to place trades, check my accounts etc--I am using it on a windows machine, but I would like it on my laptop
  • I am planning to buy a Macbook from Macmall with the minimal configuration, and add 2GB of memory from OWC and a 100GB hard drive. I would like to run Windows--the only program I will use on Windows is a streaming quote program from Fidelity-- …

  • The Crucial rep said that both memory modules were the same--and advised me to go with the cheaper one-- Good advice!! I guess if you really want to spend $150 more for a color--you can pay a bit more for the identical memory--
  • why the price difference??

  • Don't feel stupid--it happens to everyone--I did a similar thing--I tripped over my laptop and destroyed the port where you attach the stereo cable---again I was told I needed a new mother board-- I'm using Airport express to listen to my music--…
  • I think I may have figured it out--in preferences/energy saver--there is a switch for letting the hard drive sleep whenever possible. In my case the box was checked---I checked it.

  • Having just bought an iMac (Intel)--I agree--Office is buggy ---CS2 runs fine but is no jackrabbit. I would wait at least until CS2 is updated.
  • Thanks a lot
  • Set up assistant worked fine for me-- I still had to reinstall Office--which by the way is a bit buggy with the Intel Mac I did have problems with iTunes--moving the music files is a bit of a pain, but it can be done. If you do move the mus…
  • I don't know about prices in the U.K. but I just bought an iMac and it cost me $300 to get 2 Gb of RAM, and Crucial here in the U.S. is charging $134 or so for 1 Gb--it is a $16 difference, but I don't think that's significant.
