"When Microsoft was PowerPC processors for a new generation of Power Macs, after working with Acorn to codevelop fast, efficient ARM mobile chips for use by Newton." I don't understand this sentence.

Alternate headline: You Won't Believe What a Guy on the Internet Photoshopped onto a Magic Keyboard!

The surface dial looks neat, but is placing a hardware device on the screen really the right way to interact with the computer? I suspect there are better ways.

As usual, Appleinsider writes that Apple "wins" patents. As has been stated numerous times, patents are "granted" to inventors. They aren't won. It's not a competition.

This looks fake to me. iPhones no longer have inscriptions of the regulatory agencies on their back.

Appleinsider editors cannot understand that patents are not "won" no matter how many times we remind them. It's not a competition. A proper headline should say that the patent was awarded or granted.

In iOS 1.0, certain contact photos could appear full screen when you received a phone call. That's what he's referring to. He assumes it won't work in iOS 10 for anything but third party phone calls.

Apple knows the audience for the keynote -- it's largely the public. That's why all the emphasis on user facing features. The technical details will be covered for the hard core developers in their separate session.

I'm glad Apple is doing this this way, talking about the new system with developers early. Most of the time, Apple keeps everything secret until it's ready for public consumption. For something this foundational, the extra scrutiny can only be good.

It's iPhone only. Naturally it runs in 1x or 2x on the iPad but it's not designed for iPad. Philips' software development efforts are less than impressive, considering they seem to have bold goals for the Hue line of products.

The phone in the video was an iPhone 6. You can compare the inside details from MacFixit's iPhone 6 teardown. Identical. I agree with mhollins that the camera lens must have been removed by the time we saw the phone.

Of note, at both 38 and 50 seconds, it's pretty clear that the phone in the video has a regular 3.5mm headphone jack. So maybe this isn't the rumored iPhone 7. It's also not the same as the iPhone 6S or 6S Plus models disassembled by MacFixit. The …
